  1. This is basically finished, but i wanna see what you guys think. I did it for a friend so i wasn't really intending on subbing it. I'm sure i'm gonna hear something about this, but i've never actually played Chrono Trigger before. I know its an awesome game, and this theme definitely has that RPG sound to it. I'm pretty sure its just called the Chrono Trigger Theme. I kinda want to do other themes from this game, it has an awesome soundtrack. Also, i'm not sure what to call this one. I hope i did it some justice. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIO1sajyx_o Remix:
  2. Hi, I've never posted here before, and am a little bit nervous about doing so. I've got an arrangement from my band's EP that had a really rushed production job due to time constraints, and would like some advice on how to properly mix audio. I used to work with MIDI years ago, but never got a hold of how to properly handle live audio [via Sonar 8]. Everything I semi-figured out is due to Google. Anyway, the track is my arrangement of The Moon, with the following tracks with how I recorded each one: 12 violins, each recorded independently, amp mic'd. 2 synth keyboards, via midi -> softsynth. (one piano, one synth) 1 bass, line out from amp. 1 synth drums, via midi -> softsynth. 1 acoustic guitar, 2 mics. 1 electric guitar, Line 6 plugin direct. The Spoony Bards - The Moon I would really appreciate any and all advice on making this sound the best it possibly can. In turn, I hope to produce music you enjoy. Thanks!
  3. Alright, I just recorded a rough (and let me tell you...it's pretty rough) I'm sick so vocally it's just meh ok (or even bleh) and I don't really have lyrics yet. soon though...soon. remix: http://tindeck.com/listen/sswy source: (mostly right now starting at 1:00) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc-agrlU8_0&feature=related
  4. I got tired of wating for Mr. C (halc) to update his one already. Lemme know what you think- I'm still debating what to do with this. http://www.mediafire.com/?ygtgzqomf31
  5. This here'd be a remix of the credits theme 'Sorrow Long Day' from the Japanese version of Evil Zone for the Playstation. The game was an awesome anime fighter, that while not technical in the slightest, more than made up for the fact with plenty of spectacle. I've got a thing for B-grade fighters WIP Here: http://www.box.net/shared/0je2lm94qv WIP with test vox here: http://www.box.net/shared/55ssmftgyi Source Here: http://208.53.138.111/soundtracks/fuujin-ryouiki-eretzvaju-original-soundtrack/zrbxqlvenm/13-sorrow-long-day-ending-.mp3 Stevo has kindly agreed to partner with me, bringing his serious guitar talents to the mix. Thanks again man!!! I'm planning on this being a complete and utter throwback to the 80's... the best 80's anthem never heard, and it's coming along very well, I think! I only started this today, so it's fairly short at the moment, but all the basics are there... no guitar yet though! There's no real structure yet... it's only the intro and first chorus so far (which is repeated twice, though this will change). I am in the process of writing vocals for this, which I'll be performing myself. I hope to have them written and the majority of them recorded over the weekend. Lemme know what you think of it so far, and enjoy!
  6. UPDATE: See post way below for latest version / details! I don't know why I put an exclamation point either - this is hardly exciting! (or if you're lazy, VERSION 2: http://www.box.net/shared/le508qxvfg) http://www.box.net/shared/3djqouevi7 (if you're still reading) Jeremy soule is like my hero. Alright, he isn't, but I loved his Total Annihilation and TA:Kingdoms soundtracks - the former representing epic war theater and the latter an ethnic grab-bag, or something. So, to honor this bloke, I've started on an electronica remix of one of Taros' themes from TA:K. I could bore you with my personal life and my fondness for Lokken's side, but that will only get in the way of everything. I have no idea what style I'm going for. But expect some four on the floor. And. Previous sentence intended as is. I have two unconnected, unfinished parts at the moment. There are... no actual chords to speak of. And I'm still figuring out how to bridge the pieces and where I want this to go. I'll take any crits (I'm aware there's a little bit of clipping in the second half). I haven't even touched the ...middle part of the song that connects the repeated halves yet... but I will eventually. The name is up in the air at the moment, but I think I might go with the one in the title over the one on the file. edit: Source: it's pretty... sparse. I know, I've traded such intricate percussion for four on the floor.edit 2.5: my first post here woo.
  7. Training stage music shouldn't kick this much ass, but in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, it's one of my favorite tracks from the game. Well, here's my attempt to remix it and give it my own twist, which I think will be no easy feat considering how catchy the source already is. This started out as a remix for another game track, and that's actually the part you hear in the beginning. Guess what game it's from! By the way, I am using the (North American) instrumental version of the music. Old WIP Original source:
  8. Hi there. I still haven't had the inspiration to finish that Scrap Brain Zone Remix that's floating around the workshop forum, but in the meantime here's a little upgrade on one of my old originals. I thought it had some potential and what do you know http://www.mikseri.net/playsong.php?id=415729&displ_lang=en Feedback is always welcome. The old version can be found on that page, down left is a list. The bass is something I need to work on at least...
  9. http://tindeck.com/listen/nyeg Oh so very rough version. Will update over time. Feel free to crit as appropriate Source:
  10. It's been just about a year since I first started this one (10 months actually) but I think I finally got it right. There are 3 different LoZ songs in here. Most of it is based from Twilight Princess, and the last one, I'm pretty sure, is a generic LoZ song. Correct me if I am wrong on this one. Remix Secret Challenge of The Gerudo Sources Twilight Princess: Gerudo Desert (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QqdlXtTIjE) Twilight Princess: Hidden Village (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVpHPh_4uhs) Legend of Zelda: Overworld (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajYFOBWOBKs)
  11. SOURCE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_Ny2TkWJwY UPDATE 2 http://www.mediafire.com/?tzjeryjbnnq -EQ/production improved, still a lot of loose ends to tie off -Definitely varied up the sounds and the drums -Other various tweaks UPDATE 3 http://www.mediafire.com/?yqjtyvw3fhw -changed a lot of stuff -implemented much of what Hewo and Gario suggested -have an ending now -better dynamics -better production all it needs is a broader spectrum of opinions...preferably constructive ones. Help me get this track posted!! UPDATE 4 http://www.mediafire.com/?3doyizgoqgw -mainly touch ups here and there -mostly crits addressed by Hewhoistheone on this update. UPDATE 5 http://www.fileupyours.com/view/218181/EWJ_Whip_Yer_Head_Boi_VerA7.mp3 -huge changes -edited out 2 segments and replaced them with something much better (imo) -more production tweaking -more beef, with a side of coleslaw. -and yes, took Hewo's crits in mind - I may have forgotten to tweak 1 or 2 things he wanted me to do. UPDATE 6 http://www.fileupyours.com/view/218181/EWJ_Whip_Yer_Head_Boi_VerA8.mp3 -mainly addressed Halc's crits here.
  12. -The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages -Trouble on the Raft! -Original composition by Koji Kondo. -Game Boy Color. The only Not-Youtube place I have found it so far is here: http://www.thehylia.com/media/albums/mp3/ooa/2-10%20Trouble%20On%20The%20Raft!.mp3 Lol, wow. I forgot that? Really? Here: http://www.mediafire.com/?imzzk1zkdni This is my submission to the Essence of Lime album for the track "Trouble on the Raft." I never heard it on the game, but it must have been on the cartridge. I don't even know if it would pass submissions because of that, but whatever. I added a bit of Ocarina of Time into it and some of the main Zelda theme. I would just like feedback on it.
  13. I'm brand new here. People tell me my songs sound like game songs. I thought I'd run it across here and get some feedback. It's hosted here: http://www.mediafire.com/?mqyenmnnnjz
  14. This is something from 2007. It's an incomplete, concept remix of a DDR song, but not in the usual style. This is MaxX Unlimited and small parts of Legend of MaxX as if they were arranged for an orchestra. Orchestral work is definitely not in my element and I know that I can use better samples for many of the instruments, but it's an idea I like and I'm just throwing it out there. It's a pretty basic arrangement. If there is any considerable interest for completing this then I may have to look to others for assistance (maybe a collab? who knows) because I know I'm not one of the best to pull this off. But let me know what you think anyways. Source music... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0icL68dlW5s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SBZAy7F8TY
  15. Hi there, Newest orchestral mix. The title screen from Altered Beast. No where near done yet. Going for a Hans Zimmer/Remote Control Productions type sound. Enjoy!
  16. I wrote this track with just a couple riffs in mind and i'm really hoping you guys can give me feedback on it. Its got a sort of progressive rock sound to it. At least i think that's the genre this song would fall under. I wanna add some sort of lead, maybe a nice keyboard solo or something to the intro to help smooth it out a bit.
  17. Source:: "Token Tango." Remix:: Bash the Baddies [2:46] [Finished!] Original Composer:: David Wise Would anyone give it a listen? I'm still very new to music production. I posted another DKC2 remix in here about a month ago and got some really helpful feedback and constructive words. This song does have a segment that DKC2 players might recognize as "Swanky's Bonus Bonanza," but it's not. It just happens to be the same theme as the bonus intro segment. My main concern is, of course, the length, but I also am in love with those NES-sounding square synths. I don't know if I used too many or need more variety. Any help would be great! Thanks to anyone who reads this or posts
  18. Hi I started working on this a couple of months ago. It’s remix of Battle #2 from Lufia II. I’m really proud of what I’ve accomplished with this, especially since this is my first WIP. http://www.mediafire.com/?cojymym1zgj source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45uvU1ta8WE As of now there is no point in criticizing the production here. Remember it’s a demo, although some production tips would be appreciated. Also note that there is no actual guitar in there, it’s basically just a Synth running through a virtual amp. I am going to record some real guitars as soon as I’m relatively satisfied with the rest. hope you'll like it

  20. NEWER DRAFT (v 3): EARLY WORKING DRAFT (v 2): THEMES INCLUDED: NES dungeon NES title screen SNES dark world N64 gerudo valley (this alternates with the NES overworld theme once introduced)
  21. Here's my remix of Eagle's theme from Street Fighter. Yes, the first Street Fighter. This is the only game that had a proper theme for this character, as he's not as well-known. Though he still reappeared in Capcom vs. SNK 2 and in the handheld ports of Street Fighter Alpha 3. I'm still running a bunch of ideas around with this mix, but have a general feel for the progression already. I look forward to your feedback and requests WIP version 2 WIP version 1.1 Source music
  22. I'm looking for feedback on this Halo remix which was inspired by the raw emotion found in many of the Halo trailers, including but not limited to: Halo Wars and the Halo live action trailer for ODST. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3S4mlzEybIA
  23. I love Sierra games, and I love Sierra music. It's my goal to make a quality remix of one of the classic songs one of these days. I really like the original of this song, but I'm kind of new at mastering and would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance for your help, Defiance Here is the original: http://www.spacequest.net/sq3/soundtrack/SQ3_01-%20Introduction.mp3
  24. Hello. I was listening to the artist Hol Baumann today and I got inspired to try to make something up his alley.I think I failed, but I am still pleased with my work. I titled it "The Great Onslaught" because it seemed like good battle music. Thanks to those who listen and many thanks to those who give me feedback. http://soundcloud.com/feather/the-great-onslaught
  25. I was going for simple, relaxing, and laid back with this track (which it already kinda is), but I wanted to take it and shape it into a more of complete song. I really liked the style of the original, so I sought to improve it a bit. Any feedback is fine, I just mostly need opinions on the quality. Still need a name too.
