  1. Hello All! So I've created an album of some of my favorite video game music remixed into hip hip tracks. Each track has lyrics based on the video game where the music is from. Gamers can appreciate and everyone else can enjoy! I'll also post a link to the whole album, but my favorites are: 1 - At the Bar (Streets of Rage); 2- N'Sane (Crash Bandicoot); and 4 - Princess Ruto (Legend of Zelda) Would these be good for submitting? 3. Hey everybody! I've just completed a new orchestral arrangement. It's a Battle Medley from a number of Legend of Zelda games. It contains music from Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. The piece is a collection of music from Boss Battles, including a climax to the big Ganondorf fight, with some other incidental music thrown in to provide transitions. It was made with Sibelius 7 and NotePerformer. Please enjoy!
  4. Hello everyone! I've been working on this remix of the Rotten Vale theme for the past few days, and for once, it came together really quickly (~10-15 hours rather than the 60h++ I usually spend on tracks). I know I suck at mixing/mastering, but what do you think about it? https://soundcloud.com/julienmulard/the-heaviest-monster-of-the-vale-v1/s-0Jp7R The original version can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFBXcl6FW6M About the track: I wanted to remix a track from the Monster Hunter games for years, as it's one of my favourite video game series. And when I heard this track the first time hunting in the Rotten Vale in MHW, I knew I found a solid candidate for a remix of my own Regarding the source, this remix focus on the very first riff and on the "heroic/epic" melody (starting at around 1:35). I used a few other parts as well, but without really trying to keep the original structure of the piece, as I felt some of the part were not conveying the right energy. So this is a rather liberal reinterpretation of my favorite parts of the source rather than a "by the book" cover. I had a strong Arch Ennemy vibe from the "heroic" theme, so I went into that direction. The track in general has a strong melodic death/metalcore vibe. The thing I am the less confident about, from a composition point of view, is the weird clean guitar/cello part near the end of the track, wich is clearly a reference to the song Nemesis from Arch Ennemy. If you find it out of place, I am open to suggestions regarding how to make this part better Thank you for your feedback, and have a great day!
  5. So I used to play Top Gear to death as a kid, and its composer Barry Leitch used heavy arpeggio and really influenced my own style, when I think about it. I was in the mood this time for some overcompressed dance music and this particular theme from the first track of the game (or each four-race country cup in the game) happened to be stuck in my head. Mostly I left the original tune intact, except for some artistic license here and there; I added harmony when there wasn't before, a little pitch bend at times as an accent, kind of embellished on the original percussion track, and I tried to make the bass synth sound like a car engine in a few spots. I did fire up my old cart and play it for a little while. Top Gear was pretty much just a rehash of the Lotus series from the Amiga and Genesis, I think. It was a decent racing game for its time, but Top Gear 2 and especially Top Gear 3000 were better games, and I feel are both severely overlooked. Honestly I've spent many, many hours on this already, and it's pretty much done, but I could use some feedback regarding production (I have some minor hearing damage that makes production notably more difficult.) 6. To Zanarkand is of course quite an iconic tune, but I wanted still to try and create my own version of it. Here I went for quite minimalistic and atmospheric take with really jazzy / weird harmonies intentionally at the end to make a clear outbreak from the original. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  7. Hello all, This is a remix of the level BGM 'SCOURGE' from the indie game They Bleed Pixels. The version here is the edit that is used in-game I've got it in a state I would consider as "finished" in that I'm happy with it and it has a coherent start-to-finish, but I would like to try getting it ready for submission soon and would like some feedback. I'll disclose that this will be my first time attempting to do so and, while I'm not especially experienced making music yet or have very sophisticated tools, I do understand a lot of the tenets of production quality and as long as you're clear explaining any problems or flaws you might be hearing, I'll do my best to fix them. Thanks in advance. https://soundcloud.com/coeurlamari/they-bleed-pixels-scourge-remix-clawshank-redemption If you would prefer I use a different platform than SC to post this, please let me know.
  8. So This is the most recent version. I think it's at a point where I'd consider submitting it. I'd just like to get some final feedback and confirmation. My biggest concern is just that my remix might sound too stiff and mechanical (like as far as the beat and timing). Does it need a bit of humanization? I can't really tell if it does, myself. And if it does, I'm not sure how to go about properly fixing it. Any help at all is appreciated! I'd just like to get some advice and criticism regarding stuff the overall sound quality, synth choices, and general composition. I'd really like to submit this for judging sometime, so I want to make sure I've taken care of all the little details to make it good and polished. A couple specific concerns I had involved the drums and synth I used at 2:10. I want to make sure the drums aren't sounding too repetitive and that transitions between sources are smooth enough. The problem with the synth is just preference, really. Does it actually sound good to other people? I like it, personally, but at the same time, I don't know if it fits the mood of the track. Let me know if anything sounds weird. Any feedback is appreciated. 9. I remixed this theme because of how darn catchy it is. I wanted to do more with it so I added a little bit of a melody at the end. 10. Some time ago I wanted to propose a short Xenogear short film based on its own time after the events of Xenogear. I had to deal with other things and decided to launch the Cinematic version of the Faraway Promise melody that corresponds to the animation. Soon I will release said short film. Enjoy.
  11. I wanted to stay close to the original melody but create still a clearly new version, hope you guys enjoy it!
  12. Hey all! This is my first remix that I'm posting to OCRemix, and its from one of my favourite games from my childhood, Digimon World for the PlayStation 1. So, here is my remix, going for a retrowave/outrun inspired sound. EDIT: After the feedback, I've made a few changes with making the melody more varied, and adjusted the more chiptuney synth for clarity. I've also changed the mastering, I felt it was too loud, and after using a loudness meter I've adjusted it to around -1.5dB overall for streaming purposes. The Soundcloud file is an mp3 here too. When I submit to the site, it'll be WAV. Here is the original piece: Kinda worth noting that it is essentially a 30-40 second loop that I've tried to turn into something more expansive and interesting. Anyway...

Ultimate] Description: Managed to make this before the Smash Bros. direct, I hope I don't end looking like a fool hahahaha Anyways, I liked how this arrangement ended, so I figured out it would be a good thing to get a review and try to get it into OCRemix, I hope you like it!
  14. This was done about a week ago. I learned to play it on Piano early this week and decided to do another remix of it. I think this one turned out very nicely. A remix of Ray/Zena-Lan Hard Armor theme from Cyber Brawl. Femme Jazz Armour CG - Cupcom5
  15. Hiya! Another Temple theme cover!? Well, yes I made a cover of this like ten years ago and shared it to ScrewAttack g1 submission thing or whatever. It sucked hard, but it was the best I could do at the time. So when I started getting serious about the video game remixing/covering (btw, which is it!?) I wanted to do this again to show myself how I have improved... and I have, if I say it so myself. Got a bit side tracked on the end riffing, but I thought it needed some heavy dropped D twanging release! Have a lovely day y'all! Original tune:

  17. That's my first remix/cover of a Game Soundtrack, so please, leave your Feedback and Tips to help me improve my soundtrack! Thx.
  18. Source: Worked on a remix of the dungeon theme for a competition. Happy with how it came out, but I'm a little worried I may be stretching the melody of the original bassline a little too liberally. If it's not too far off the mark, I'll try and see if I can clean this up into something submittable for the panel. 20. Wassup guys! Description: Inspired by the music of Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future, here is my take on the track “Perils of the Coral Reef”. My version is called “Joys of the Coral Reef” which is a lo-fi chill hip hop beat with beautiful strings and a sax solo, and calming ocean, dolphin, and whale sounds. Imagine swimming in the clear blue sea with this tune playing! Enjoy! UPDATE: Made a lot of changes! Will submit this! 21. Hello again! Checked out this game and thought it is awesome! The stage 4 music really hit me 'cos I think it's a kind of departure from the typical Castlevania music style and generally it has some catchy melodies and a strong beat. Tuned down to B with the guitars to get that low end booming! And also this is the first song I learned by ear, in everything else I've done I have used midis to help with the composting/arrangements. The original track:

  23. Sup all! When gamers who have played God of War 4 decided to make “Boy”, the name Kratos constantly calls his son Atreus, into a popular meme, Smooth4Lyfe decided to create a remix. Check out the EDM remix called “BOY”, which turns the voice of Kratos into a hot club pumping beat. Hope you like!
  24. Hi guys! About a year ago I submitted a Remix which got No'd with some constructive feedback. I went back into my DAW and fixed hopefully most of the complaints and critics. I hope someone is able to give me a review on the WIP and see what else needs fixing before I resubmit. Thanks a ton!
  25. Hi OCRemix! Here's a remix of Hyrule Castle theme with a happy tone. I don't have any clue of the genre. If anyone knows, please tell. I was going for kind of traditional dance music vibe with this. Hope you enjoy!
