good earplugs for noisy band?

I went to play guitar with few guys last night. It was in a really reverberant room though and they turned their amps up way way way too loud, and my earplugs ($.30 kind) weren't cutting it. The bass was still way too loud.

Are there any earplugs that block out bass as well as treble?

I already have peltor 105 earmuffs and regular earplugs, but they just don't cut it for bass reduction

I use these, although not for band practice. The sound-blocking is extremely transparent -- they don't muffle things like regular earplugs do, although they're only ~20dB noise reduction whereas I think normal earplugs go as high as ~30dB. Not sure if they'll help specifically with bass, since they're designed to block all frequencies equally.

hmm. all right. Maybe they will be ok with turning their stuff down. The drummer probably won't want to play soft though. I am really the only one complaining about it I guess. Rather not ruin my ears though. Ears don't grow back when they are broken as opposed to broken bones.

i use ones like the hearos (i'd bet there's an OEM manufacturer of those kind). they work really well, and block all frequencies fairly uniformly, although there still is a slight dropoff at the highest trebles

i wouldn't bother with the vaters.. you can adjust the attenuation on the hearos depending on how far you stick them in your ear

My girlfriend uses Hearos--they're the best she's tried... though... admittedly, she only uses them to block out my snoring

Hearos are extremely good. I use them for testing the higher gain settings on my amps, and in general for playing freaking loud on anything with a crunchy overdrive. They sound great, and they work really well, enough that you can blast whatever without much trouble.

Edit: I've tested these with ~5W on max output (5.7W), they do fine; every doubling of power adds 3dB, so 80 watts amps should give 12dB louder, 160W 15dB, and 320W 18dB. Since they have about 18dB attenuation, you can expect a 300W amp to sound akin to my bedroom amp without earplugs.
