Posted April 28, 2008 Share Posted April 28, 2008 My "Mega Man Mastered" series shows me defeating all of the bosses in a particular Mega Man game, using the Buster only, and while taking no damage. So far I have done this for MM1-MM8. MM1 & MM2 are one part each; MM3-MM6 are two parts each; and MM7 & MM8 are three parts each. When in two parts (MM3-MM6), the first part will be the eight Robot Masters, and the second part will be the Fortress Bosses/Dr. Wily. When in three parts (MM7-MM8), the first part will be the Robot Masters, the second part will be the Fortress Bosses, and the third part will be Dr. Wily. Only problem is that it kind of falls flat upon execution because it's boring to watch; merely an unfortunate consequence of the rules he laid down for himself, since they pretty much require each fight to drag on and force him to just be jumping and dodging 90% of the time. Overall, it must've been a lot of fun mastering each boss, but it's not really something visually exciting enough for the average viewer to actually want to watch in its entirety, I think. That being said, I think you might have gold on your hands if you cut each boss fight down to a couple seconds of brief highlights. And replaced the music with yakety sax. (I just watched some of the mega man 2 video with yakety sax playing, and I can confirm that yes, with a bit of punchy editing, it would be awesome.) TC deserves a pat on the back for his skills, but a slap on the wrist for posting something the average user won't find entertaining. I can't imagine anything more soul-drenching, horrifying, mind-numbing or plain boredom-inducing than (a) reading or ( aiming to produce posts that try to entertain every possible average user here, or anywhere else. Bundeslang Posted April 28, 2008 Share Posted April 28, 2008 I just watched Mega Man 1, 2 and 8. Overal I like the movies and the idea for not getting hit. Still, some parts aren't interesting. For Mega Man 1, you better has taken a weapon to beat the first Wily Boss, it takes minutes and minutes before that boss is defeated (in Mega Man 2, you used Bubble to beat the last boss for a comparable reason). In Mega Man 2, The music from Wily 1 is playing too long, you better has variated it more with Mega Man Wily part 2 and or the (end)boss themes (like you did in Mega Man 1). In Mega Man 8, part 2, it takes too long before that last boss is defeated (8 minutes or something). You should have used a weapon there as well to keep the movies interesting. There's also another boss which takes long. Overal, interesting movies and it's nice to hear the music from Mega Man back in this way. I'll watch the other movies later. Of course it's not going to be interesting at times because the normal buster is usually too weak. If I wanted something truly entertaining, I'd opt for Tool Assisted videos that actually works towards being entertaining. Also, I don't think these types of videos are for casual gamers at all. Taking "no damage" however grabs my attention, I couldn't play any megaman game without taking damage. Pretty much impossible. Well for me anyway. In some cases I'm even more interested in new users. Many users sign up, post one or two things and then dissapear (their accounts gets deleted some day), but some of them continue and become important later. Those needs attention to continue posting.
