Final_metroid Posted November 8, 2008 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Okay so I have this : mms://202.231.221.5/ve/v/v-02388.wmv It leads to a video, but no matter how i try to click on it or access it, it always prompts me to open windows media player instead of opening the download box. So, is there any program I can open it with? Or, can I take the physical file from windows media player somehow? Or will i have to do some digging in the temp folder? Majin GeoDooD Posted November 8, 2008 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Have you tried changing mms to http? The mms:// protocol will always open the file in Windows Media Player. Depending on your browser settings if you use http it may come up with a download dialog, or it could load and play in your browser. Alternatively you could use the http version and create an html file on your desktop with a simple link to the file so that you can download it. Final_metroid Posted November 8, 2008 Author Share Posted November 8, 2008 Hm.. the link works, but whenever i try saving it, I get the correct file but it always comes out to be a 130 byte corrupted file. mattoco Posted November 8, 2008 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Yes, the size of the file indicates to me that the file is pointing to itself, as there is no video information contained in it. K999 Posted November 12, 2008 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Take your original mms link and open it in vlc player. To open the mms link click "file", then "open file", you will see four tabs. Click on the network tab and then select http/mms option and copy your mms link inside the box. Below you see "advanced options". Select the Stream save option and click on settings. For output, click on "file" Then click "browse" on the right side and save your file anywhere and name it. On the right hand side of "browse" select the option of "dump raw input" and you are set. Just play the file. It might be the case that when you are playing the file you just see the video cursor bar moving but no audio or video, but don't worry about it. After the video is done playing you should have the saved streamed file fully downloaded. Just change your file extension to .wmv. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
