Hey folks.

I worked all day to finish this and get it on the board before I go away next week. It's a remix of Fortune's theme from MGS2. if you dont know the original, you could try p2p, or ask me if i'm around.

This mix came quite spontaneously; I layed down the acoustic guitar track one night when i was playing in my room. i did all the other recording this week. I'm putting the mix on the board instead of sending it to djp because as a result of the spontoneity of the recording, the mix kind of meanders...i didnt do it with OCR in mind, so i wasnt sure if it was right for OCR. but it came out pretty well, so here it is.

as you will hear, it's about 90% acoustic. had a good time with this one. hope you like it.

Thanks to binnie for hosting.

EDIT: updated, minus clipping and sharp ending.

You had little reason to have second thoughts. Beautiful development and progression, free-flowing acoustic movement without repetition. I can vouch for the arrangement quality as I've played the game. It'd be neat to have your vocals reprise, but it keeps'em fresh as a once-only.

I can sit here and fill out this post field with a bunch of dazzling adjectives, but I'll let Dave handle that for once.

Pretty cool. very light and all that stuff.

Totally unfamiliar with the original, but I have enough faith in Vig to

not try and pull a fast one on us :P

Sounds very nice.

There really isn't a whole lot I can say critically on this one. This particular

style is pretty hard to critique since it's so free-form. The technical aspects

of the recording are great, very crisp and clear. My only concern is that

some of the bass bits are a TAD resonant... sort of a blooming effect.

I'd have put the mic nearer the neck, or used a higher up pick up if it

were electric, but thats me.

Also I would have rather heard the vocals in the end instead of the start.

It's sort of a climactic effect since it's such a nice haunting sound, and

it makes you want a bigger high point the rest of the track, which never

really comes. Nothing technically wrong though, so I'm not gonna rant

over it.
