Recommend me a few Metal/Rock remixes

I have downloaded quite a bit from this site from the last few years, but I haven't even scratched the surface. There is just too much content to walk through slowly. Can you recommend me a few artists?

Specifically, I'm looking for metal remixes - heavy, prog, what have you. Some of my favorites are Luiza (big time), Danimal Cannon/Armcannon, Sixto Sounds, Goat, Stemage (all of Metroid Metal is fantastic), Braincells, and especially Game Over (Hyrule's Angel is one of my favorite songs, period). I'm sure I left a bunch out.

I think I've gotten all the tracks by the above people (and I'm going to double check now), but are there any more great metal or rock artists here that I might be missing out on? Thanks for any recommendations.

there's a song that i never knew about until recently that's quite good by the artist N-Jekted. only track he's ever contributed, as far as i know. great rock, right there. housethegrate's an excellent guitarist, as is OA.

you also might want to wander over to vgmix and check out their DoD contest. there's always a lot of metalheads in there.

Ah yeah, you'd love Dwelling of Duels. A lot of the remixers you mentioned have submitted there, and the majority of the songs there are in the style that you'd probably like.

A few artist recommendations:

Prince of Darkness

Darengan

SnappleMan

Joren De Bruin

Dr.Manhattan (from DoD; he's won 1st place in the last 4 competitions.)

I have a podcast for exactly this type of thing! Radio Free Gamer is dedicated to showcasing the latest in free VGM. Every week I do an interview with a VGM artist and air (sometimes exclusive) tracks and announcements.

It airs live on Wednesdays at 7PM EST, and is added to a podcast on Fridays. The links are in my signature! Thanks.

great ad, man, but you'll notice he was looking specifically for metal and rock stuff. if he wanted to sort through the general dross he'd have done that himself without posting to begin with.

Easily some of the best remixes in the community. I'll post more if I can think of some.

Have fun ;)

Wow, thanks guys. That was fast! I looked through your list Epitaph and I only have 2 or 3 of those, so I better get cracking. Thanks for the heads up on DoD also guys. I have a few tracks from there but I didn't know what the label meant :)

Yeah, Nekofrog should be checked out. Also, thank you tag system for making this question extremely easy to answer.

Not all of the songs on the site have tags, though. I'll have to fix that whenever Dave or Larry get around to giving me tagging permissions again.

are you ill? armcannon's live sound is nowhere near powerglove's sound, and the shredding on their respective latest album totally gives the direction to powerglove. not to mention that they actually arrange the songs occasionally, as opposed to MIDIcannon.

Both bands are excellent. You don't have to like Armcannon, but you don't need to hyperbolically shit on them in order to make your point. You've clearly never heard Armcannon's stuff, including their latest album, if you're claiming they never use interpretation in their arrangements.

We're not gonna get into a big dramarama over which band is better or the best.

I recommend House or housethegrate and his brother Ashane. They mostly do some great hard rock/metal remixes with the occasional jazz and samba arrangement here and there. Ryan8bit, particularly his later stuff which has gotten so much better and heavier.

Of course you could also go the official route and get the Black Mages, hard rock/metal arranged music with Nobuo Uematsu doing the arrangements and keyboards. And there's Naoto Shibata who did some fantastic and some of the best metal arrangements of the Castlevania games. Finally, Taro Banno and Hajime Wakai doing fantastic rock arrangements, and my personal favorites of F-Zero X.
