Anime

I've read some previews, but I haven't found anything interesting yet.

I want a second season of Ano Natsu de Matteru

I do too! that show was epic! It was so entertaining! The characters were vibrant and not cliche' at all! It was by far one of the best shows of the season.

Now that the new Spring season has started, I'm totally stoked for Nazo no Kanojo X! I've been following the manga and I really like the drawing style, and of course the story, even if it is a little strange. But, because it is so unique it makes me excited for more! Been watching it on Crunchyroll.

Aww, another great series is only a half season! WHY!!!???

OK, I finished the Clannad VN Sunday and the anime last night.

... Dear fucking lord, I've never read or watched anything before that hit me as hard emotionally as Clannad did. I laughed. I sobbed. I cried. I laughed more. I cried more. And then it dropped a cluster sadness nuke and tore me to pieces before putting me back together again for the ending.

It's one of those experiences where I wish I could go back and do it all over again with no prior knowledge. I like emotional stories, and Clannad is genuinely my favorite VN and anime in that realm. Hell, they may have just topped my all-inclusive favorites list. I'm still feeling the emotions running high a day later.

As far as the characters go, Nagisa annoyed me a little bit at the beginning of the VN, but she grew on me. Especially once I started the After Story portion of the VN. I'm glad she did, too, given the story... As for the rest of the cast, I think I liked Kyou and Fuko (too cute...) the best. Both of their routes got tears from me. The way those stories were built worked fantastically.

If you haven't read the VN or watched the anime, I highly, highly, highly recommend you do so.

I've seen the anime for it, and it was boring, and all it really made me do was rage. I stopped watching it because of that.

If you want a really good VN, try the Muv Luv series(Muv Luv: Extra, Muv Luv: Unlimited, Muv Luv Alternative, in that order).

Mysterious Girlfriend X being made into anime.

I like the manga, but it's dragged on a lot lately. Maybe the anime will pick things up again.

I've also read Tasogare Otome x Amnesia some time ago, so that could be a good transfer from paper to video. Eureka Seven Ao... not sure about that one. I liked Eureka Seven, but that was some time ago. Could a sequel series be any where near as good?

The story for Mysterious Girlfriend X manga starts to pick back up after chapter 62 or so. So, I wouldn't give up on it just yet.

Madoka Magica 2

Had to do a double-take.

Re: why-Madoka discussion. It's emotional porn. In that vein, it seems I'll have to check out Clannad at some point.

I'd like to thank this thread (i.e. Brush) for pointing out Golden Boy. Awesome both as a parody and in itself. So goddamn good.

OPs... only seen two or three dozen, but of those GitS:SAC's is my favorite. First season. Imagery, foreshadowing, music... teeth... it's the whole package. Honorable mention to Haruhi (first season) for its sickeningly catchy tune.

Might check out Mirai Nikki... sub recommendations?

On subs, you don't really have much choice - [GotSpeed] are the only group that have released the whole series so far. Fortunately they're decent.

Oh. Saw a bunch of individual ones on nyaa and figured they might add up to an entire series. But ok then, easy choice. Thanks.

A friend recommended me to Trigun. Am I going to be wasting my time watching 25 episodes of this?

As someone who watched 5 episodes of it and loved it, go for it. Sadly I seem to be ADD, as I have not only that but cowboy bebop, Eden of the east, Mira Nikki, and Oran High school host club in my list of halfway watched but I've loved what I've seen.

Trigun will be worth your time unless you don't like anime classics like Cowboy Bebop. And if you don't like Cowboy Bebop, I am morally obliged to not trust you as a person.

I have actually started watching the Hunter x Hunter remake, and so far I absolutely love it. I'm not familiar with the series at all, manga or original anime, but it is really a shounen I think that I can get into. It is fast paced and keeps things interesting in the same sort of way that the Soul Society arc of Bleach kept me interested, but that completely crapped out later to make room for stereotypical and boring shounen unfortunately.

Trigun is one of those old classics that's hard to have something bad to say about it, outside of the fact that towards the end of the series the pace picks up dramatically to tie up all the loose ends. But at the least it HAS an ending (and a somewhat conclusive one), which is more than what i can say about most anime.
