ParanoidDrone
When you upload a video to youtube via TF2, the TF2 client tracks it. But it only updates the tracking information when you click "replays" in the menu. Thus it won't know to award the 100/1000/etc. achievements until you access the replays menu and possibly the uploaded video in question. That's kind of silly. XeroZohar
I dunno. If a central server had to track that many youtube videos, I don't think even Valve could handle it. Plus there may be a limit to the number of API calls youtube will accept from a single ip or set of ip addresses in a given timeframe.

I'll be giving this a try in a couple of weeks, once the kids are out of the school, i can use some tools to control about 300-400 at a time, get them to launch a url, and see what happens. See how it tracks it, and how long it takes for it to make it back to the valve servers.

Native Jovian
So, I've been messing with some scripts, and I can't get them quite right. I'm trying to get two things: a one-button-press that drops a sentry and then switches back to the last equipped weapon, and a one-button-press that attacks with melee until you let go of the button and then switches back to the last equipped weapon. Here's what I got. Sentry: alias +melee "slot3; +attack;"alias -melee "-attack; lastinv;"bind mouse4 +melee This actually works pretty well, but it fires whatever weapon you have equipped when you first click (before it switches to the PDA), which isn't ideal for ninjaneering. Melee: alias +fastbuildsentry "destroy 2 0;build 2 0;+attack;"alias -fastbuildsentry "-attack;lastinv;"bind "mouse3" +fastbuildsentry This switches to melee when you click and back when you release, but doesn't attack while you're holding the button. It does attack if you click mouse1, and keeps going until you release mouse4. I want it to start attacking when I hit mouse4, instead of having to hit mouse1 to start it up. Anyone know how to get it to do what I want?
Powerlord
Speaking of commands, has anyone else been getting a new form of lag where the game just repeats whatever you were last doing for a few seconds? I first noticed it a few days ago... At first I thought it was just my left/right keys not responding, but lately I've also had it happening when shooting my Ambassador (since most of the time I take single shots with it... and I'll suddenly shoot 2 more times after I let go of the button). I wasn't planning on getting a new desktop until February 2012, but if this issue persists, I may move that timetable up.
Top Gun
My brother was on BLU for a bit last night, but he had to cut out after a little while because he said he was experiencing some massive lag. I'll have to ask him if it was something similar to what you're describing.
ParanoidDrone
I also had some spots of lag tonight, but I couldn't tell if it was the server or the ISP being, well, the ISP. Jovian, I think you mixed up your melee/sentry labels for those binds.
Super-Duper Sombrero
Personally, the script I use for a quicksentry is bind F11 "destroy 2 0; wait 10; build 2 0" Blows up your sentry, then preps another for placement. Won't actually place until you click, which I find is good for more precision placement. Also only works on servers which allow the wait command (good thing OCR does). Oh, also bind F11 "+attack;wait 6;lastinv" for the spy knife. It replays the draw animation every time you stab someone. Increases the cooldown slightly, but I just can't stop. Kiyobi
That quicksentry script is amazing for Gunslinger Engies. Bind that thing to a very accessible key and you can drop sentries on a dime, it's sick. I'm trying to comprehend how your spy knife script thing works... Super-Duper Sombrero
Well, F11 is actually one of my mouse buttons (don't ask). I'm not really sure how the knife script works, but it does, and it is glorious.
Powerlord
I'm still unable to save Replay takes to movies. This is sad day, as I have the 15 Backstabs in a Dead Man's keep video all ready to go.
XeroZohar
Speaking of bindings, I have my weapons bound to mousewheelup (primary), mousewheel down (secondary), and R (melee). F calls out spy, middle click calls out incoming, mouse4 (or 5... it's a button on the side) calls out thanks. More interesting is that this frees up number keys so I have 1-4 mapped as my common disguises as spy, and as the four devices as engie. 5 brings up the disguise kit and destroy PDA. And just to make it more wacky, I turn off autoreload when spy because of the revolver taking up half the screen when reloading, and mapping reload to Shift. (autoreload is on for all other classes) I'm weird.
Powerlord
We've released a mandatory update for TF2. The notes are below.Team Fortress 2 - Fixed a problem related to spawning multiple entities unnecessarily between mini-rounds - Fixed a bug that caused players to see the wrong backpacks on some classes - Fixed a problem with honorbound weapons not allowing themselves to be holstered after killing a Spy using the Dead Ringer - Fixed the Ubersaw and the Vita-Saw not displaying the Medic's ÜberCharge progress Updating servers now. RED has been restarted. BLU will restart on map change. I've heard that today's update is much larger than the patch notes suggest it should be. I'll watch what files are updated on the server and report back. Update: New hat data found. Model name: hardhat_tower, all-class hat. Update 2: Name: Lo-Fi Longwave Description: Can't stop the signal. Classes: All Update 3: It has a radio tower on the top and the Kritzkast logo on the front. Now they just need to do it for the Holy Mackerel, Candy Cane, Powerjack, KGB, Frontier Justice, YER, and the Kunai. And I think I forgot a few. Lo-Fi Longwave doesn't sound remotely like a hat, but w/e I guess. (EDIT: Apparently it's a Kritzkast promo.)
Powerlord
I'm doing my first complete reinstall of Steam on this computer since I installed Windows 7. I made sure to save the TF2 replay directory first, but all my other Steam stuff has been wiped. I'm hoping this will fix the replay error at least, and possibly more. FYI: Deleting all my Steam stuff freed up over 100GB, so I think there may have been a lot of garbage files lying around... I had nowhere near 100GB of games installed there. I use a program called SequoiaView that visually renders file sizes as blocks based on folder and individual files, lets you know what exactly is taking up the most space in a given folder. It's pretty handy.

Native Jovian
That quicksentry script is amazing for Gunslinger Engies. That's mostly what I want to use it for. It works pretty well as-is, it's just that the errant shotgun blast annoys my OCD. Even the melee thing works well enough, I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get it truly one-click. ParanoidDrone
Substitute the Googly Gazer for me. Although the teddy bear is quite adorable. Not that I've actually bought any hats from the store, but you get what I mean.

Powerlord
I think I figured out my "action repeating" problem: The USB port my mouse was connected to is apparently dying. So, fancy things like turning or letting go of the mouse button wasn't always registering. I reconnected the mouse to a different one. Having said that, I have 4 USB devices plugged into my 4 rear USB ports, so either one of them gets the buggy one, or I have to move something to a front USB port. Note: This still doesn't affect my "ISP dropping my upstream connection for a few seconds" or my "TF2 won't render replay vids without crashing" issues.
