Toy Story 3

Up was a sappy ass movie I did not enjoy. I don't dig it man.

Cars was cool but it was like the least grossing movie after Finding Nemo. I have no idea why they decided to go with a second one. If anything they should have gone with a second Incredibles. The possibilities are endless with sequels for a super hero movie like that.

Long story short. Up was lame. Definitely not a favorite of mine.

Dude, if Up didn't move you, I have wonder if you're even human... after all.

I gotta agree with The Incredibles though... I'd love to see a sequel. I bet the Cars 2 script is pretty good though, if they're making it in spite of the first one's relative lack of success.

Lightning McQueen, his pit crew, and new crew chief, Mater, head around the world for the "Race of Champions" taking place in five different countries: Japan, Germany, Italy, a 24-hour race in France, and the United Kingdom. However, Mater, involved in a case of mistaken identity, saves the life of a British secret agent called Finn McMissile and finds himself embroiled in his world of international espionage.

Actually it sounds even worse.

Actually ...

1 Finding Nemo-------$339,714,978

2 Up ------- $293,004,164

3 The Incredibles------- $261,441,092

4 Monsters, Inc. ------- $255,873,250

5 Toy Story 2 ------- $245,852,179

6 Cars------- $244,082,982

7 WALL-E ------- $223,808,164

8 Ratatouille -------$206,445,654

9 Toy Story------- $191,796,233

10 A Bug's Life------- $162,798,565

11 Toy Story 3 ------- $41,000,000 (so far)

And if you factor in merchandising, Cars is probably at the top. Seriously, Cars has been selling merchandise like nobody's business.

Our lists are looking pretty similar, with only a few minor differences.

My List:

1. Finding Nemo-------$339,714,978

2. Up ------- $293,004,164

3. The Incredibles------- $261,441,092

4. Monsters, Inc. ------- $255,873,250

5. Toy Story 2 ------- $245,852,179

6. Cars------- $244,082,982

7. WALL-E ------- $223,808,164

8. Ratatouille -------$206,445,654

9. Toy Story------- $191,796,233

10. A Bug's Life------- $162,798,565

Your List:

1. Finding Nemo • $867,893,978

2. Up • $723,010,536

3. The Incredibles • $631,442,092

4. Ratatouille • $621,426,008

5. Monsters, Inc • $525,366,597

6. WALL-E • $521,268,237

7. Toy Story 2 • $485,015,179

8. Cars • $461,982,881

9. A Bug's Life • $363,398,565

10. Toy Story • $361,996,223

And when you factor in the estimated five billion in merchandise sales (a Pixar record), it's not that surprising that they would go for a sequel.

Besides, the first Cars was Lasseter's favorite Pixar film for a while (and might still be). Man loves his automobiles.

Uum the fact I said Finding Nemo made more than Cars?

And I hope Toy Story 3 makes more than Up and possibly Nemo? (although we won't find out for a while)

I think it's pretty much fine. I didn't even realize there was an argument.

Who argues over the internet?

Besides, the first Cars was Lasseter's favorite Pixar film for a while (and might still be). Man loves his automobiles.

Well I hope he throws in a shit ton of exotic cars. I would love to see a Pixar version of the new Lexus LFA.

And the Marussia B1 & B2. That would be an eye pleaser for me.

I'm surprised there was a Cars 2 trailer before the movie. It was like a Pixar tradition. Just to show a tad bit of a new movie no matter how far away it was. I miss that…

=/

Some IRC potpourri:

<just64helpin> hay un amigo en miiiii

<just64helpin> man, i gotta stop singing that

<just64helpin> mr. tortilla head was hilarious, wasnt it?

<just64helpin> [regarding the large baby doll] dat lazy eyelid

<just64helpin> [regarding the incinerator scene] just think of all the toys who werent so lucky

<just64helpin> couldnt believe a G-rated movie would get that dark

<just64helpin> having toys as main characters gives the writers alot of leeway, i guess

<just64helpin> also its animated

<just64helpin> the amount of tension is unlike anything i've ever seen in a disney movie

<just64helpin> "our friendship will never die..." *ominous reverb*

I have to say, I had just recently wasted far too much time on tvTropes the other night before I saw Toy Story 3 (*SPOILER*) and managed to see one of the tropes played perfectly at the end with the Claw aliens: Brick Joke. It could be considered Chekhov's Gun, too.

Exactly. Right before I saw the movie I had discovered that Joss Whedon was on of the writers for the original movie, so part of me halfway expected that beloved characters would just be suddenly killed off.

Come to think of it, I'm surprised that Woody didn't catch a random piece of shrapnel from the rocket at the end of the first movie.
