Final Fantasy VIII 'Perdition Hardcore'

Heh, cool. I get to have the first word on my own mix! I'm pretty satisfied with it, though I would probably add a little more bass and a little less repetition if I did it all over. I can't recommend this fairly for obvious reasons, but I will leave you with a quote from one of my teachers about it: "I can totally see people dancing to this!" Take that how you will. :)

have heard. As my first review of thissong I'd like to say how much I personally like it. It has a techno-rock feel two of my favorite genres and has a very good beat. It would actually make a good DDR song! I recommened it to everyone who have played FF8 and evenj to those who havent. This song is top notch:

Breakdown: 9.75 out of 10 Rank: 8O Eyepopping

This is one of the best video game remixes I've heard. It takes the best elements of the original and enhances them in such a way that it heightens the original drama, doesn't sacrifice anything and still manages to be creative and have it's own character. That said, I rarely listen to the orignal anymore since I got this mix. :) A must download for fans of the game, dramatic tracks, high energy tracks, dark tracks and electronica fans in general.

This one has a mix of good and bad, but the good easily outweighs.

It has a pretty insistent beat, but the distorted and lead synths sound pretty cheapy, and things stay pretty static. Some sections are a bit mechanical sounding, like the piano breakdown, but overall I think it works.

The good news is that the source is good, and the string synths and the pads sound good, and though the beat isn't ever switched up, it's great for getting your hardcore dance on.

A very nice mix. The original theme is 'jazzed' up and made much livelier. I'll admit that when I first listened to it I wasn't sure I liked it all, but it quickly grew on me before it even ended and a few listens later I really like this. It's lively, energetic, fun, and still keeps the sort of 'essence' of the original. Well done.

Also, can I ask if I'm the only one who was reminded, up until about 1'10 when the main theme kicked in, of the music from FF7:AC where Cloud fights Kadaj etc. in the Forgotten Capital? Nothing good or bad about that it's just something that occured to me :P

But anyway, a good remix, well done.

Certainly something someone could dance to. The percussion really kicks out a groove, though it doesn't really change up during the mix, and the background keeps things intense. My favorite section is 2:05 when it breaks down for a bit.

The main lead sound doesn't really fit the rest of the mix, in my opinion. It feels too mechanical and chip compared to the rest of the song. Also, there is a lot of repetition, and the dynamics don't do much, making the mix get a little static by the end. Not huge issues, but a bit of a detractor.

Nice work.
