Avadan Posted December 30, 2010 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Hi, I'm currently working on a game, I'm using a game making software so It's nothing pro or anything alike, it's been made with a lot of heart though : ) A composer was kind enough to make a few original tracks for the project, among those, the games main theme. At the begining of 2010 a released a trailer of the game, using its main theme, now that the project is reaching its final development stages I thought of remaking the trailer with updated visuals and the new designs ingame. I thought of using for the trailer a remixed version of the theme (with the composers permition of course), at first I was going to ask for a rock/metal or acustic guitar version of the theme but after listening to the talent in this site I figured I'll leave the choice of the style to the person taking this request, as long as it portraits the adventure feel I want the game and trailer to have. Here is the original trailer The game is a sequel, the first one got some good reviews from a few game making forums, if anyone is interested in more info of the game, story, characters I'd be happy to post some : ) Thx in advance to anyone showing some interest in this. Ghetto Lee Lewis Posted January 4, 2011 Share Posted January 4, 2011 The trailer music sounds really generic and chip-tunish. I'm not sure about the game's theme either. It looks extremely cliche. I don't mind retro style games as long as the theme and story is very interesting and entertaining. Is it midi score, or full audio, what kind of music are you looking for? Avadan Posted January 6, 2011 Author Share Posted January 6, 2011 Yeah xD, I'm a big fan of the old school console jrpg(or light rpgs), so when working with those chibi sprites I just can not picture the game with any other music... I luv midis :3 As for the game itself, I'd be lying if the project didn't take classic genre conventions... but I like to think I use them with an original twist(at least thats what I say to myself to help me sleep xD) As for what kind of music I'm looking for... that's a hard question o_O I don't want to inder any style mixing any colaborator might want to try, all I would ask is that the music would keep the adventuring feel of the game, with the characters visiting different and exotic locations. My first thought was to request a rock/metal (kinda in the style of the music of blazblue/guilty gear) version of the theme used in the trailer, but I don't want anyone who is thinking in giving this request a try, to feel restricted to those styles http://www.mediafire.com/?wmcxbr11d23t3g1 In any case if anyone is interested here is a link to the first game, its a very noobish project :3 but I'm sure you'll get a few laugh out of it (not cause of any unintentional hilarity xD ) If you want to see in first hand the style/theme of the game : ) Edit: And in advance please forgive me for all the misspellings and grammar mistakes°_°u The sequel will have a few more writers spell check the whole game before its release. Its a dream of me to make Music for an independent RPG, but i got rejected from alot of projects because of my music style T_T I realy would love to give it a try.
