Games Cause Rape

Funny that all of those are by illusion...there's other companies... too many to count to be honest. But in America, heck, in most of the rest of the world, people will never encounter these games. They aren't sold in stores, and there was a crapstorm about Rapelay awhile back that even made Japan pull it (like 3 years after it was released...tsk tsk).

Everyone shocked by hot coffee and all that stuff would DIE if they knew about those.

She has a legitimate point: exposure degrades sensitivity. Other than that, though, I'd also take a look at certain other areas that need to change first. Sex-ed in public schools, anyone?

Sex-ed in ELEMENTARY schools. People wonder why in my city, there was a 14 year old arrested for running a prostitution ring. how does it happen?

1. show children every possible effect of sex

2. adults tell them "its not bad if you use proper safety measures" ( they're kids for crying out loud!)

3. Social norm.

I'm currently in a criminology and law class, and so far it seems that video games would be a VERY low incentive to commit crimes (if they even are an incentive). Poverty, neglect, and easy targeting are much greater threats to our society than Mass Effect.

Also, I would like to know of a legitimate video game on the market that involves rape. I haven't heard of one.

Far as games go, they are not nearly as damaging to the Psyche as movies are. I can't remember which movie it was, maybe The Expandables or one of those new action movies with Sylvester Stallone, or whatever.. point is there was a scene where this guy is anally raping a girl for like 10 minutes saying "YOUR ASS IS SO TIGHT" over and over again and her clearly traumatized trying to get away.

I don't care how explicit you get in those niche games like that Jap rape simulator, as that is targeted for jacked up people in the first place. Mainstream movies that have screwed up scenes like that (which is almost every movie nowadays, full of anal metaphors and fecophilia hints) it will do more damage to your Psyche than Hot Coffee and Mass Effect ever will.

Not to mention the gore and violence in some games. That one game that's coming out where you play as Raiden from Metal Gear looks plain messy...

Depends on what you mean by "legit". Sold in stores or just a game that is 100% done by a company. If its the latter, then the people who posted stuff by illusion on page 3 covered it all. If its the former, well nothing comes to mind of a game sold in stores where you can rape people.

Most japanese games like Rapelay are like most anime pornos. The chick will ask to be raped because the Japanese have no idea what some words mean.

Look at Zircon and Pixietricks's trip to Japan. They went to a store called "Titty" and when Jill asked if they knew that the store's name was Oppai, the sales clerk was all blushy and stuff.

The Japanese have no idea what anything else means in the world.

I was rapin' in nineteen-diggity-three and video games hadn't even been invented yet, so don't go and tell me video games are responsible for rapin'.

If anything, it was the talkies.

he's right this is an insult to real rapists everywhere, you know the people that actually put the time into it, you think they play mass effect to become better rapists, no they go out an rape people to be better rapists :P.

I knew within the first 8 words that I possibly went to far with that :/

Japan's notion of sexuality is quite alien to the rest of the world, historically they have always had a strong emphasis on "domination" in their erotica [case in point, the ritual semen bath AKA "bukkake"], and it still carries over today, which in the age of the internet where the entire world can take notice and learn of other cultures, there's so many "lol japan" things on the internet.

But yes you need some historical context to figure out why Japan markets things like Battle Raper 2, and I don't have enough fingers on my hands to count all the pornographic anime out there where in 3 episodes or less, the entire thing is about forced sex and seriously about 99% of the time, the girls develop stockholm syndrome and end up enjoying it by the time the short OVA is over.
