Guitar Hero but this time for serious

Ubisoft is making a game for real electric guitars.. those things that have strings instead of buttons. Seems like it's designed to teach people to play so if you have a guitar and already know how to play, Ubisoft says fuck off. If you don't own a real guitar, you can also fuck off. That leaves 2 people in my state.

As Kotaku said, if you have a guitar like.. lying around because you're a quitter like me, this is your game. Or you could buy the $200 bundle and in a week you'll be Cerrax. In three, Sixto.

"Rock Band is on hiatus." WTF? New DLC and RBN songs are still released every week, and the new Squier guitar controller was recently released (for real guitar action just like this game is aiming for).

Sounds like this game already has a whole lot of catching up to do. Hopefully it'll at least be better than Power Gig.

Huh, I didn't know this topic was all about Kotaku bashing.

I'm rather skeptical about the game. Didn't they get the memo about Power Gig flopping?

Also, doesn't RB3 already have this?

Yeah but with Rock Band 3 aren't you still just pushing button patterns?

This game is supposed to actually show you strings and bends and palm mutes and (insert all other guitar terminology here)

If you have the Pro Squire guitar, Rock Band 3 will do just that. Well, not entirely certain about string bends. The notes are read like tablature traveling at you. There are also training sections that cover basic chords and scales. I don't know how in-depth UbiSoft's game will go in music theory. But if it helps a kid pick up a guitar and play music. Then so be it.
