SubNormal J3
I thought I was getting phished when I saw the update reminder pop up for version 5.0 after getting 4.0 hardly a few months before. Guess it's legit. Not sure what Mozilla is up to... http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
Moguta
Basically, Firefox is starting to release new versions more frequently. http://makingwindowseasy.com/2011/02/07/new-accelerated-firefox-release-schedule/ Personally, I think it ought to have been a point release (4.1) but Chrome is already up to 12... version number conventions just aren't the same they used to be. Gollgagh
I'm staying on 3.6 until they get significant portion of the extensions that I use ported
prophetik music
most of them are ported - at least, the ones i use. haven't had a compatibility issue in ages. unless you use some no-name third party thing that no one's ever heard of and the developer died or something, they're updating quite a bit. edit: duh, it's gollgagh, of course he uses some no-name extension that no one has ever heard of. he has to, or he wouldn't be Internet Cool anymore. Archaon
The only difference I've noticed is that when you have a lot of tabs open and they're all squeezed together, and then you close some and they're supposed to broaden to fill the extra space, they don't. Not until you jiggle your cursor over them a bit. It's annoying. Don't get it.

Don't get it. you obviously didn't notice that the ram usage is way lower with extra tabs open than it was in 4.0. also, the memory leak issue is mostly resolved, which was a huge deal as well. Basically, it's to make tab positions predictable; if you want to close a bunch at once, you can do it *boom* *boom* *boom*. Before, when the tabs would resize after each closing, you'd have to worry about how much the next tab you wanted to close was moved. It should resize them only after you move your mouse cursor off the tab row, that way consistency remains for the entire interaction. If you want gobs of tabs open and still want them to be readable, try the Tree Style Tabs extension.
