Zelda - Maiden Theme / Zeldas Lullaby '7th maiden'

So took a shot on the crystal maiden theme -> which became Zelda's lullaby later in the series.

As I love the 80's, tons of reverb, electronica, chiptune glissandos and orchestral parts -> I stuffed that all together in there. It wasn't meant to be a remix in the beginning but when I had written the first 8 bars it just came "in" there.

I'm surprised WillRock isn't all over this kick-ass 80's tune :nicework:, but I guess he moved on from the wip forum a looong time ago, since he had the misfortune of getting posted ;)

Anyways, I agree with Rozo in that it rocks. 2:30 is an awesome change-up btw. Gotta love that 80's groove :pretzel:

:D thanks

I fixed some small things suggested by a very good friend:

bells melody change; the string section is now a bit smoother in the transition; clarinet the same; section before 2:30 has some more hats to support the buildup;bass in last part played a somewhat wrong harmony and I tamed the sidechaining

now I'm waiting for a mod review and after that I'll submit (hopefully)

Wow, yeah, this got buried, I didn't even notice it at all :-(

Some pretty awesome sounds you've got going in here. Great soundscape and mixing, though the bass is coming off a little strong. Not a big deal there though.

My qualm with the mix is that you can't really tell when the intro ends and the rest of the song begins, there's not much of a buildup until after that extended percussion-less breakdown. I suppose you could say this needs a bit more of a defined arrangement/progression in the first half of the song. This could pretty easily be accomplished just by building up your drumloops more, which would help anyway because the ones you're using now are fine for an introduction/breakdown, but could stand to be a little bit more interesting for the rest of the mix.

That's about all I've got to say right now, I don't know the best way of approaching that but hopefully the feedback is useful for you. Definitely keep at this one, it's got a really nice warm sound to it and I like it a lot :-)

And yeah, in the future, if anything like this slips through the cracks for this long, definitely send a PM to me, Will or Stevo so we can attend to it. The way the mod review system is set up, it's rather easy for us to miss something if the forums are particularly busy or if we haven't had time to check the forums for a day or two, so yeah... sorry about that!

Oh thats okay by me - I would have waited even longer.

Actually it got no intro at all, except that reverse fade in. After revisiting the song it seems a little short and "disturbing" though.

I thought about adding the "killing the boss" explosions and get right into the track. I have to redo that and if doesn't work I'll do the buildup approach.
