UMD Gamer Symphony Orchestra Fall 2011 Concert!

Recommended Posts

It's that time of year again! The University of Maryland's Gamer Symphony Orchestra (GSO) will soon be holding its annual fall concert! As usual, we've got great things in store and plenty of brand new arrangements for your listening enjoyment, including themes from "Pokemon", "Kingdom Hearts" and "Shadow of the Colossus".

For those who don't know, the GSO is an entirely student-run ensemble of more than 120 musicians, including a 30 piece chorus. We are the first collegiate level ensemble to draw our repertoire exclusively from the soundtracks of video games. The GSO seeks to establish video game music as a serious art form, as well as bring newer and younger audiences to orchestral performances. All of our music is arranged in-house, some of which can be heard here on OC Remix.

The concert will be held on December 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. in Dekelboum Hall, Clarice Smith Center at the University of Maryland, College Park campus. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. We have a reputation of filling the the 1,170 seat concert hall, so be sure to get there early! Admission is free, though donations are recommended, and the concert is appropriate for all ages.

We look forward to seeing you!
