So I have some items I'm willing to trade:

Festive Sandvich x2

Festive Buff Banner

Festive Ambassador x2

Festive Grenade Launcher x2

Festive Axtinguisher x3

Festive Ubersaw x3

Strange Tomislav x2

Strange Homewrecker

Strange Force-A-Nature

Glenberry Bonet (Demo hat)

Genuine Foppish Physician

Strange Part: Sappers Destroyed

Strange Part: Engineers Killed

Strange Part: Soldiers Killed

Edit: The economics of Naughty Crates on the market amuses me - you can snag them for like $0.50 - 0.60 at like 7-8 am EST, and yet at night they're like double that.

What do you want for the Sandvich or the Ambassador?

At the moment, TF2 isn't working, so hopefully the trade will work if I have the right amount of stuff.

Alright, since it keeps coming up, what is the general opinion on random crits?

These are the arguments as I understand them.

Pro

-Crits are part of the game and have been from day one. They randomize combat to a certain extent, helping to ensure no one match ever plays out the same as another.

-Crits are one of the settings necessary for high quickplay rating. Without them enabled, the server will receive much less matchmaking traffic, and the community pool will expand much slower.

-Crits occasionally allow a newer player to score a kill they would not have otherwise, giving a much-needed feeling of accomplishment at an important point in their game experience.

-Certain weapons are balanced around having crits enabled. Without them, these weapons become underpowered.

Con

-Crits are an unfair mechanic to both sides. A critical kill is not 'earned' through player skill or tactics, but awarded via the random number generator. This is frustrating to the victim and robs the victor of their accomplishment.

-Crits are based on total damage done within the last several seconds. As such, better players will crit more, only serving to increase the gap between teams performing well and teams that are not.

-Assuming that the extra randomization crits provide is not desirable, turning them off provides a better experience for everyone. Having an established pool of regulars negates the effect of less matchmaking traffic, if enough of them show up to play consistently.

-The metagame is no better or worse with crits disabled, just different. For example, minicrit/critboost effects become stronger by comparison, and 'no random crits' ceases to be a negative attribute.

What say you?

Final edit: I have all the strange festives!

With an extra s.f. sandvich left over.

Is your festive sandvich available for trade? If so, what do you want for it?

As for crits, personally I do not care for them. I think a fight should be won off of player skill as opposed to luck. But I also firmly believe that keeping server traffic high should be a top priority so I vote to keep them on. We need traffic from the matchmaking pool.

I feel that crits on is just a part of the game. It's like turning the items off in Smash Bros -- you can do it, but you're no longer playing the game that Valve made; merely a custom subset of it. The server doesn't turn off loadouts and doesn't run only 6v6 -- until we hold an event where those are concerns, random crits shouldn't be either.

I've espoused a similar view - I have crits on mainly because of server traffic reasons.

I personally do not care whether crits are on or off, because it affects games minimally in general. I'll kill with crits, or get killed by crits, but it's not frequent to the point where it decides most battles. I do get a little satisfaction killing off of crits actually, since it frustrates some people, but it's not really a serious thing for me or have any real weight on my experience.

The Snip of All Snips

I'll take that normal quickfix and normal heatmaker off your hands.

Also, if anyone else has a quickfix I'll do the same for you. (though I only need two total)

I'm still looking to collect/make a few items, so would it be ok if I posted a request list here, or would that be too WTB +1 DAGGER OF HEALING?

[*]Strange Carbonado Botkiller Stickybomb Launcher Mk.I

...

[*]Strange Scattergun

...

I'll take the Strange Scattergun and Strange CBSL MkI off your hands. I've got some metal floating around that I'd just craft into hats if I don't use it for something else.

Sure, I can do this. 2 Ref for both sound okay to you?

Xero: not a problem, sorry I didn't notice your add until now. WHOOP.

Pretty sure if my technicolor dreamcoat of a sale list is okay yours should be.

In that case...

I basically just want one of every non-reskin weapon. Or, the components I'm missing to craft them myself.

The ones I'm currently missing:

Flying Guillotine (or three mad milks)

I'm just looking for the "normal" ones. I'm not really big into the whole strange scene tbh.

Just a note for everyone, I won't be on TF2 until Monday or Tuesday night (maybe not until Wednesday), so hopefully things don't break - bug Gamemaster or Bark if something wrong happens in that time.

I rebooted the server this morning since there was an item server connectivity issue that was determined to be a server issue (and it wasn't determined until after I went to bed).
