UMD Gamer Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert!

Recommended Posts

The Gamer Symphony Orchestra at the University of Maryland will be having its annual fall concert on December 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at UMD! Our repertoire for this season includes themes from The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger and more! As always, the event is free and family friendly. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

The GSO is the first collegiate-level ensemble to dedicate itself exclusively to the playing of music from video games. Comprised of over 120 members, including 30 singers, the GSO seeks to use video game music as an educational tool. We have played to packed houses two years in a row at the university's largest performing arts venue, the 1,100-seat Dekelboum Concert Hall, and to over 1,000 at the Smithsonian American Art Museum as part of their Art of Video Games exhibit.

More information, including recordings from previous concerts, can be found on our website: http://umd.gamersymphony.org.

The GSO also has a presence on OCRemix! Check out our page to hear our renditions on Portal's "Still Alive" and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's "Hyrulian Highlands."
