no repeat of subspace is fine for me, I greatly preferred melee's single player

also on the subject, board the platforms or there will be mutiny

agreed on both counts

SSE was nice, but... you don't need a grand storyline for a game like Smash.

The Adventure mode worked nicely, even if it was a mashing up of worlds. Perhaps they can make it even more expansive (though not to the extent of SSE)...

oh, and how about CHARACTER-SPECIFIC BREAK THE TARGETS

not just HEY LET'S MAKE FIVE STAGES AND THAT'S IT. EVERYONE SHARES THEM TOO

character-specific ones really helped to acclimate one to that character's play style through using their special techniques to reach those targets.

Personally speaking, I'm fine with the lack of a story mode in a fighter, as more often than not it's all about the multiplayer(be it online or off). I bought Soul Calibur II on the PS2 back in the day along with other fighters like Capcom Vs SNK 2, but as much as I loved them, I just couldn't keep at it for too long without getting some multiplay in.

Of course I DO appreciate when a fighter DOES incorporate a pretty cool story mode like Mortal Kombat, but it's no deal breaker for me. by a longshot.

Looking forward to some 3DS Smash Brothers.

sakurai didn't say there wouldn't be a story mode, he just said there wouldn't be cutscenes

and even if there isn't a story mode honestly who cares

playing through the subspace emissary from start to finish the day i bought the game, intoxicated, with one of my closest friends is a rather incredible memory for me

we have tons of in jokes that have lasted us to this day

the cutscenes were important to this

i want more
