The phoenix sound is cool but I really think it's overused. Personally I find that these kind of effects are most effective when used once or twice per song so they don't lose their appeal. The drums seem too soft in some parts and overpowered by all the synths you have but that could be a problem (headphones) on my end though. I really like the wobbles you have here and there. The part starting at 3:23 to 4:13 was my favorite As for genre, I'm of the worst to say anything, heck I upload 95% of my music in the miscellaneous section on Newgrounds.
