I have to turn the lag in FL up by a LOT so that it's able to run without chopping up when I have a lot of samples playing. For sounds, I use just soundfonts that I can find for free and samples that I make myself. The above setup is going to change as soon as I get a job. Sounds interesting, but I need some more feedback on it first. How is FM8 different then FM7, Yoozer? Uh, recently I got about 8 new mics (2 SM57s, 3 58s, an audio techinica condenser, and 2 small condensers), a nice stereo preamp and a handful of stands. zircon Posted December 11, 2006 Share Posted December 11, 2006 Yeah, I have Komplete 4, actually. You can't beat that package in terms of value for money. I'm using Akoustik Piano and Elektrik Piano regularly, for sure; Guitar Rig 2 is fantastic (even though I'm a novice guitar player). FM8 is an upgrade over FM7 in terms of easy editing features, but especially in terms of preset browsing. They added literally thousands of presets and you can now search via the KORE browser even without having KORE. So, if you want warm pad sounds... you can simply highlight "Pad" "Warm" "Sustained" "Analog" for example, and it will narrow down the list of presets for you. I haven't used Absynth 4 much, but then again, I was never a big fan of Absynth. A little too experimental for me, I think. Battery 3 is cool though! Reaktor itself is oh so sweet because you can literally do anything and everything with it. the only things really I haven't really touched much in komplete 3 is the vocoder and the spectral delay, although I should give the delay another chance. Absynth has a really high learning curve but it is ridiculous. I'm only starting to scratch the surface of Reaktor 5. Steam Pipe2 synth in Reaktor 5 is friggin awesome. Skrypnyk: For ambient style music spektral delay is a god send. The basic delay functions are wicked easy to use.
