Recreating the Metroid Prime bell sound

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am creating my very first song. It's a remix of Chozo ruins with some Nightmare thrown in there. I was thinking of putting the "Metroid Prime Bell" As I like to call it, into the song.

The sound I'm talking about can be prominently heard at the beginning of the Parasite queen boss battle at 0:07 to 0:08.https://youtu.be/6DCcCBOmOo0?t=6. This sound really interests me as I remember it being used in other prime tracks. I think the bell would fit my remix rather well but I have had trouble reverse engineering it. I do know the basics of synthesis but I haven't been making music as long as most of you guys have so I thought I would ask for some tips in recreating this sound. I'm working on a strict budget as I have no income at the moment and I can't spare money on super expensive VSTs.

I have FL studio producer edition so anything that comes with it, I have.

Had some fun recreating this. It's one of those chord baked into the preset things, I usually avoid these so it was quite unfamiliar and took me a while to figure it out but once it was done it was clear that I'd heard samples like this before

I appreciate you giving me some help. I really do, But the link you gave was for "Tallon IV Rave Organ." I was looking at the bell sound used in the time-stamp I gave in the video.

Another place the bell is used is at 0:59 to 1:01 in the same song (https://youtu.be/6DCcCBOmOo0?t=58). It rings three times.

Again, I thank you a lot for your help and your work won't go unused I assure you. However it wasn't exactly what I was asking fer. If I'm am still unclear on the sound I'm hearing let me know and I'll clarify some more.

Sounds like a slightly distant anvil (metallic pot-like clang). Not sure how to synthesize that, but you could find similar sounds in the Impact Soundworks Reforged library. They give a sampler pack with 42 WAV files (and a bunch of NKI files for Kontakt). Or, maybe you could use a tubular bell sound and detune it / make it more atonal, then layer a very quiet gong. The hit at about 0:08 sounds like a quiet gong was played underneath the metallic clang.

Yeah I completely missed it, as it turns out the sound I recreated also happens on the same time stamps and I assumed it was the foreground element you were after. It's possible to do a sound like that via synthesis but as the other two posts said, it's most likely just a sample that's been dropped
