The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

SPOILERS:

I read speculations that Minnish Cap hinted at a 4th part of the Triforce, and from what I can tell, Twilight Princess does as well through the presence of FOUR light spirits. Notice that in Lanayru's monologue after gathering his tears of light, he mentions that 3 light spirits were created by the Godesses. We can assume these to be Faron (parallel to Farore), Eldin (parallel to Din), and Lanayru (parallel to Nayru). Who, then, is Ordona parallel to?

Also, was the Ganondorf in TP supposed to be an entirely different Ganondorf, similar to how Link is not the same person from series to series? I almost got that impression due to the fact that the Sages were surprised to find he held the Triforce of Power.

With a few exceptions (notably, OoT and MM for Link), the people shown in the games are supposed to be either reincarnations or random people with the same name. Ganon is usually the same guy, depending upon the game. Since there's supposed to be some connection between Oot and WW, it's supposed to be the same Ganon. But never having completed it, I can't be sure.

For the most part, all the games are supposed to be separate. I don't know why everybody is so keen on this whole timeline stuff. I've never thought that any of them were in any real order, and that the entire series was just revisions and reinventions of the same basic story. That's why they're so similar. And you know what? I still enjoyed them, regardless of any connection they were supposed to have with each other.

same here,i don't really care and think that it's a variation of a unique "legend", but from what i heard, nintendo has a timeline build for all of them. that why all people are trying to build one. And all popular VG series usually have people trying to make one.

Zelda Twilight Princess is my game of the year for 2006. Sadly I only bought 5 games last year. Le sigh, poor art student. It was good long quest. As a self named "Zelda Master" I felt that the game lived up to Wind Waker and even Ocarina of Time. The boss battles were interesting. The 3rd to last boss was pretty insane as well as the desert boss. Only wish you could refight the bosses like in The Wind Waker.

Ok, I was playing TP and I noticed something odd...Link was missing one of his bracers, specifically on his right arm (GCN version). Did he always not have one or am I nuts? I'm not even kidding about it not showing up, all thats there is the black wrap thats undernearth. I swear, if I can't find an answer I'm going to go nuts.

It wasn't on mine, either (also GCN). I thought it looked odd.

You're not going crazy.

As far as timelines go, I'm not quite certain to what degree they can make one work. Otherwise, Ganon would show a bit more prescience as to what is going on when someone is foiling him. He sees a boy in a green suit for the umpteenth time, that boy has acquired a magic sword or the master sword, he is going around to various dungeons to acquire an item or various items of power. Only in two games does he show any sign of knowing what is going on: OoT and WW. You'd think at some point ganon would start rounding up everyone that dares to wear green and have them summilarily executed.

But did anyone else find a few things missing from the game? I wanted a proper archery range, like those found in OoT and Majora's mask. The hookshot challenge was fun, but a proper archery range is still a must (and that one in the starting village does not count).

I guess the rushing river challenge could be concidered a archery range. You have to shoot jars with your bomb arrows while avoiding getting hit by stuff. It's pretty cool if you ask me n_n

I agree, it was pretty fun. I found it too easy though, albeit that may be because aiming is easier with the Wiimote (got it the 2nd try).

Haha, same here. The first time I didn't miss any, I just bumped against objects and ended up with 23 points. The 2nd time I think I passed with 27 points and got my prize. Also, anyone stop to see the Zora take the boat UP THE FRIGGIN' waterfall? I saw that and laughed! I mean, I know Zora's are good at swimming, but man, I never thought Zora's were THAT good!

Just beat it today. Missed three heart pieces, got all the bugs (with a little help), got all the hidden skills, but didn't even attempt to go looking for all the Poes (after I found out what the reward was... like I didn't pass up enough Rupees with a full wallet in this game).

SPOILERS:

- I really liked the use of the Bulblin King... and the fact that he didn't die, some sort of second-tier reoccurring boss.

- The Darknuts were amazing... really an improvement over WW's already superlative enemy design.

- The final boss fight(s) were amazing, best ever in a Zelda, IMO. I liked the human Ganondorf fight last, as opposed the OoT's beast Ganon last.

- Zant's mimicry of the bosses was awesome, (especially the remixed music - the one from the baboon sub-boss' room was fun to listen to) though I would have liked to re-fight the dragon from the city in the sky again - truly awesome.

- I thought the absence of Ganon/dorf from the majority of the game was not the best decision. I really liked his design for TP, though his dual swords in WW were cool-looking). Zant was a neat character, though.

- This game was a lot more skilled with comedy that some previous Zeldas - I particularly liked the Hylian soldiers, especially the scene right before the escort mission - it was so expected, yet still funny when it happened.

Anyway, who was the guy who used the crazy bomb-thrower when the people from the bar helped you out at the castle? I thought it was Auru, but I'm not sure now.

Damn, could I write a novel for a post?

Just beat it again last night, remembered a few things that confused me...

- What was the deal with the white glow in Ganon/dorf's chest? It was there both when he was human and beast, although when he was beast, it was a much larger gash and it was dripping out... any theories?

- Why exactly did Link try and stop Midna when she was going to attack Ganondorf with the Fused Shadow (when she teleported them out to Hyrule Field)?

Anyway, does anyone know where I can find...

a.) a really in-depth synopsis the entire plot of TP?

b.) transcripts of the cutscenes in TP?, or

c.) a site with all the videos from the cutscenes?

Just want to review all what happened, I strung out my 40+ hours of gameplay over about two months... can hardly remember what happened in the beginning.

-When Ganondorf's story is revealed the first time, it shows the sages stabbing him in the chest with that big glowing sword. This was his old injury that continues to be a weak point that Midna talks about when you ask for advice in the final battle.

-I'm not entirely sure whether Link was just generally worried about Midna (the two of them fighting would probably bring the castle down around them) or if he was worried that using the Fused Shadow again would completely corrupt her. I know it was creepy as crap the first couple times she used the power.

Oh, yeah, dammit. I completely forgot about 90% of that cutscene. I never did ask Midna for advice during any of the final battles... that would have solved it. Is the sword he uses in the final fight the same sage's sword? I thought it seemed odd that he would have a glowing white sword. EDIT: yeah, watched the execution scene again.

Mmhm, figured it was something of the sort. Not that it prevented her from decimating the castle.

Did find these videos on youtube. Guy did a pretty good job with the capture. Got most of the important scenes.

What's this about a Bulbin King? I don't recognize the name and I beat the game last month.

Also, yes, the Darknuts are freakin' incredible. I always forget to do the Helm Splitter, though... does it even work on them?

Bulbin King! You know, the guy you fought on horseback, then again near the Arbiter's Grounds (he used an axe, lit the tent on fire), and then the optional fight on the castle grounds (so you can get an extra key to get into the treasure room)...

Right? Big, green, and ugly?

Anyway, I don't think you can do that to the Darknuts like in WW. Not positive, but I think the main problem is you can't execute a shield bash to initiate the combo.

Rarely. Most of those moves don't really work on them. Your best bet is to advance and pull back so that they lunge for an attack, then attack while they're overexerted.

And when the hell was that guy named the Bulbin King?

I can never get the fucking Helm Splitter to work, because whenever I try to do a Shield Thrust, I always end up doing a Spin Attack. Which really blows cock.

I occasionally had that problem, but I found that giving the nunchuck a slight bit of forward rotation helped counteract that.

Also, to the people who are so damn confused about who I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_in_The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Twilight_Princess#King_Bulblin. You know who he is, you just aren't connecting the dots.

EDIT: Oh! What was the deal with Ganondorf's death and the Zant neck-snap thing? I guess that they were somehow linked, and killing Ganondorf killed Zant? But it was kind of weird that they showed Zant dying first... but it was immediately after they showed the Triforce of Power on Ganondorf's hand dim and go out. Maybe with that power gone, Zant couldn't be kept alive (a reference to his "my master will keep reviving me over and over" thing). But I thought Minda destroyed him with the Fused Shadow. Maybe I missed something or am reading into it too much.
