The People's Remix Competition 391
PRCv16-6

Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition!

Last round it was TheVideoGamer who got another win. The biggest surprise of that round was that the source was selected by Bundeslang, this normally only happens at special rounds. As a result, it took him 11 days to post the results, also a PRC record. YorkshireLakeside also contributed.

Hello, here's PRC391.

I'd thought i'd try an Amiga game, because it has a library of great soundtracks. The game is Stardust and this is Boss Theme Number 4. This triggers in level 4 of the game.

The entire soundtrack is heavily underrated and honestly unnoticed. Only true Amiga gamers will know the soundtrack, while others might well not. The game itself is a shooter, done in a more 3d environment, using sort of an illusion to generate this, never-ending tunnel aspect. I don't know exactly what it is, but it is arguably the most impressive aspect about the game, especially for 1993.

The music is also really good. Despite it coming from a infamous genre, known as techno, it's actually less repetitive as you assume it would be. What i love about the score, is all the intricate details that come in, and some of the rhythmical aspects can throw you off guard making for a truly nice slightly wonky feel. The score itself is rich and dynamic and there is a lot of scope for experimentation. It is one of the more memorable scores to the Amiga. I'd love to see an remix album of this one day, but for now, here ya go.

And of course, i like to make my own midi.

I’ve done another slightly different mix if you want to add it as a bonus track... unless it allows me to do it.

Just not sure because what I like might not be what other people like. Would be interested in feedback.

Can you allow downloads?

Then I can try to get it on ThaSauce.

No additional songs, so I'm closing this round.

YorkshireLakeside wins by default and may select the source for PRC393. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your sources as fast as you can, but before next Monday (6 May 2019), 11:00 AM ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT).

PlanarianHugger picks the source for next round as winner of PRC390.

TheVideoGamer thanks again for submitting a bonus mix.
