Interactive Analysis of VGM Music (Using MuseScore)

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

My name is Sam.  I'm an aspiring composer.  I'm brand new to these forums and relatively new to composition and the craft of music, but I've been playing (and listening to the soundtracks of) video games all my life.  It's very, very cool to me to find a community that shares the same giddy enthusiasm about video game music as an art form.

As part of my studies, I've been transcribing and analyzing video game music.  Studying the greats, if you will.  I've decided to post some of these transcriptions/analyses on MuseScore, as it allows for interactive playback, the ability to comment on specific parts of the score, and other cool features that make it much easier for people to learn from the transcription.  I've decided to post them here and share them with all of you.  Of course, all comments/feedback/thoughts/opinions/cupcakes are welcome and appreciated.

I hope you enjoy and find these of use:

"Phantom Train" from Final Fantasy VI - https://musescore.com/user/29606925/scores/5933915

"Kefka" from Final Fantasy VI - https://musescore.com/user/29606925/scores/5925895

"Zeromus Battle" from Final Fantasy IV - https://musescore.com/user/29606925/scores/5924183

Peace,

- Sam
