The People's Remix Competition 420
PRCv18-01

Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition!

A new season, 18 already. Last year ended with a big round, voting stage is open till January 18th 2021.

Back in PRC417 it was Souperion who got the win, TheVideoGamer was close but didn't win it. Wassup Thunder did a bonus mix.

On 12/1/2020 at 5:21 AM, Souperion said:

After some consideration, I choose the seaport theme from Terranigma. I'd love to hear what people do with this lovely tranquil piece.

The deadline is Wednesday January 20th 2021 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT), check the link http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC420 for the exact time left. Make sure that the song is uploaded to ThaSauce or that there’s a download link posted in this thread.

You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that if you use ThaSauce, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix if you use ThaSauce. Of course you can also upload it somewhere else and put a download link in this thread.

Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted in this thread.

Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score.

The winner of this round may select the source for PRC422. The winner of PRC419 also may pick a source for that round.

The winner of PRC417, Souperion, who picked this source, can only participate by submitting a Bonus Mix. His vote is doubled in the voting stage.

You can find the full rules list at this page as well.

GOOD LUCK!

@anachromium Man, if I could, I would--but it's been so many years since I've touched acoustic guitar or flute I would probably fail pretty hard on it without substantial practice. :( Kinda wish I never sold my old band flute TBH. Acoustic guitar also needs new strings.

@TheVideoGamer Woot. \o/ I mean mine's pretty experimental, but I thank you specifically for the inspiration. :D

Welcome to the voting stage

The mixing stage is over. This round has songs and 1 bonus mixes by Souperion. The following people compete against each other:

Wassup Thunder

TheVodouQueen

TheVideoGamer

To vote, do the following:

Visit http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC420 and listen to all the entries

Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen or click PM.

Fill in the entries from first to third in the ThaSauce form or fill in your top 3. Do not vote for Souperion.

State a reasoning for it.

Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. However, they may not vote for themselve, They get a 3 point bonus for all the songs. They only need to fill in their top 2, leave the third box empty (or vote for Souperion at the third box).

Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results.

You have until Tuesday January 26th 2021 10:59 AM ThaSauce time (11:00 UTC, 12:00 GMT) to vote.

If you vote by PM make sure that your top 3 is clear. I prefer something like this:

(To)

(Subject)

PRC ### Vote

(Message):

1: (remixer A )

2: (remixer B )

3: (remixer C )

(reasoning)

I will post the feedback given in the PM’s and the votes in this thread. The winner may choose the source tune for PRC422. PRC421 just started.

@Wassup ThunderProlly just need to message Bundeslang with with your votes.

Got my voting done, nice work, all.

Vote received. I did just vote myself and didn't get any error. For now I also have a vote by and Souperion myself on ThaSauce.

I will extend the voting stage with one day since I'm not able to post the results tonight. Like Wassup Thunder, if anyone has problems with voting, send them to me by PM.

It's results time.

Souperion did a two bonus mix.

TheVideoGamer got 10 points and receives the last place wooden spoon

TheVodouQueen claims second place with 15 points.

And the winner of PRC420 is with Wassup Thunder with 17 points.

So again 17 points is enough for the win, this time for Wassup Thunder who may pick a source for PRC422. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your sources as fast as you can, but before next Wednesday (3 February 2021), 11:00 AM ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT).

You may select any source from any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links (I recently updated this site):

I'm having issues voting on thasauce for PRC 420, so if I understand correctly, I'm to message you with my votes. Sorry for making more work for ya!

1st: TVQ, nice radio-funk style approach. Love the beats and variety of sounds.

2nd: TVG, it may have been a last minute entry, but still brings back Sega Genesis Nostalgia. Nice work.

Comment on Bonus entry: Souperion, love the gentle melancholy of the mix. Lovely variations.
