djpretzel Posted September 7, 2002 Share Posted September 7, 2002 Hey there - it's Evic (aka. DJ Slyce), and I've finished my first Video Game ReMix. It's pretty short (1:04) and is based ona heavily modified version of Track 18 of the Mortal Kombat 3 SNES game. I modified Track 18 to make it sounds like the Movie Theme song as much as possible, and then altered that to my liking. The first part isn't bad, I guess, it just doesn't rub me the right way. nothing really goes on except that high synth and the bass. If that part were expanded on I might post this. But then it just slams to what sounds like another song... except that it goes on for ten seconds and ends very badly. I'm left thinking "WTF was that all about?" m68030 Posted September 9, 2002 Share Posted September 9, 2002 First off it's way to short for the style of remix. This needs to be at least 3 to 4 minutes to carry the energy that the intro sets up. The melody is far too loud, I think more layers would be very beneficial. The slow-looped drums and instruments are an interesting effect, but then as soon as it's up it's done. I loved what I was hearing, but it just cuts off prematurely. Expand it, and I'd say yes. Though, its length leaves something to be desired. NO.
