Well it's been a fun month or so, but the time has come to wrap up this, the second OCR Must-Have Games thread. I hope you all enjoyed remembering and discussing these old classics. Perhaps someday, we will do this again, with a new lineup of consoles.

Is our list perfect? No. We'd need a much bigger voter base to fine-tune such a list to anything near perfection. But hopefully this list will lead some of us to play games we'd never even considered. Thanks for all the people who took the time to vote regularly!

Ah, I really should have voted eariler, but if it's anything, Megaman Battle Network 2 is a definite must-have for the GBA. Actually, any game from the Megaman Battle Network series is a must-have, the battle system in the series is an awesome combination of action, stratgey and RPG. The plots are great, the variety of themes, monsters and areas is great. the difficulty setting is perfect, it isn't walk-through-the-park easy but not hard enough to get you to slam your head against the GBA repeatedly through frustration. Graphics are great and so is the landscape, it's done in an isometric view. In conclusion, the games in this series were very well-crafted in all aspects. The only downside I've found with it is that you sometimes find yourself in some situations where you're not exactly sure what to do, as in... there's no obvious action that will lead the story ahead so just have to experiment with crap like talking to everyone and pressing A to everything =/... oh well, I think Megaman Battle Network deserves to be on the list, unless it's too late or something?

Dear God were there a lot of low-count tie votes, and single votes this time around. Damn near the entire Saturn section got axed because of there being virtually nothing but Nintendo and Sony kids from that era. Even some GBA games only got one vote (MMZero 4 anyone?). I fear to see what's going to happen in the eventual 8bit and 16bit lists.

Anyway, it was fun. See ya on the third (and final?) list.

I'm not sure that list is completely complete. If I recall correctly, Capcom vs SNK 2 made on the both the Dreamcast and PS2 must-have list, not just the Xbox's. The PS2 list also looks a lot shorter than it did the first time around. I don't know, maybe I'm seeing things or I have a bad short-term memory.

Perhaps someday we'll go back and update the lists of consoles we covered before.

If we do another of these threads, I expect it will cover the NES, SNES, Gameboy and Sega Genesis. Maybe the TurboGrafx-16 and GameGear as well, but I'm not sure. I know there are plenty of other early consoles that list would exclude, but I can't imagine we'd have more than one or two voters who had ever played one ever.
