Basically threw this together in two days, still need to record the lead guitars and the strings.I need production help because the kick is getting raped by the bass. Also, there's some popping/clipping going on because Guitar Rig hates me. Anyway, hope you enjoy :)

UPDATE:

This update has some mixing tweaks and added orchestra hits, lead guitars and synth strings. Bass crackling and Guitar Solo will be done/fixed tomorrow :)

UPDATE 2:

I think I'm as good as done here, upped the lead synth an octave during the non-solo parts, fixed the bass, and made the bass-drum pack some real punch. Now it just needs a non-crappy guitar solo, this one is a placeholder :P

For the rest, ready to submit I think?

No expert on the production end of remixing, but if you're using a compressor on the kick, set the compressor attack to be much slower. Let the kick punch free before compressing it.

The first snare roll or whatever it is sounds completely bizarre, dunno if you meant it to, but I'm not a fan of it. Crackling is really easy to spot at at about 1:00. Re-record, or use an audio editor to manually paint them away. I dunno, that's what I'd do.

But man, I like where you're going with this. :D

whoa yes I shouldnt have compressed the kick that vehemently, IMO it sounds a lot better now, though it could still use a lot more click. The crackling is actually not because of the guitars but because of the sampled bass, which doesn't like to get run through guitar rig o_O. I'll have to fix that somehow.

Nice sequencing per usual.

Lead at :22 needs to be up an octave. It feels buried underneath all of the percussion.

Loved the section at 2:20.

Overall really try to work on dynamics IMO. The section at 2:20 stood out bc of the little breakdowns.

Nice transition at 2:00.

IMO the 2nd half is much stronger than the first. With such hectic energy in the low end proper transitions and a focus on melody are what will make this song. The guitar wankery with the melody in the 2nd were def noteworthy! :)

Oh wow, this is coming along excellently! The production overall sounds a ton better than your last song. I can't pinpoint anything that's wrong with it myself, so someone who has a better monitoring setup / better ears will have to help you there. Arrangement wise, as I said in #ocrwip, it's awesome, and live instruments made it even better. I'd say sit on it for just a little while longer to get some feedback on the final final draft, just to make sure. Good luck man!
