  1. I admit that my all-time favorite FF music is still Hitoshi Sakimoto's score for XII >_< But major props to Uematsu for creating some of the most memorable musical themes ever heard. Count me in for the contest!
  2. Right now, this is basically a cover of 'Sacred Moon' from Kingdom Hearts II with a tiny bit of 'Destati' thrown in and a slight original bit. (It's very rough because it's my first attempt at remixing anything and I have no idea what I'm doing, haha.) Anyway. I want to learn as much as I can, so - any constructive comments at all on this would be greatly appreciated! And here's the source for those not familiar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrZnHTtEQsE Thank you! ^-^
  3. Ah, Zanarkand. Still one of the most beautiful video game themes ever The use of dynamics was great! In a slower piece like this one where the melody stays pretty constant, it gave it some movement and punch. The clarinet lead was a good choice (and no, I'm NOT just saying that because I play clarinet, haha) - I liked that you compensated for its range and dropped some of the notes an octave. At times, there was a little bit of muddy sound, mostly just because of several instruments playing in the same few notes of a higher range, I think. Also, I would have liked a little more bassline in parts. Maybe just a bass clarinet or a double bass to give some added depth, especially through the forte bits. Actually, a bassoon might sound cool in an underlying bass part, too. It must be so difficult to score multiple parts for live performance, but you've done a pretty nice job with it ^-^
  4. You know it's a good remix when you can't hear the actual 'Omen' without automatically thinking that it's 'Pillar of Salt'! Still one of my favorites ever. I love the way it grabs my brain and dumps it somewhere in the middle of an Eastern desert
  5. Ah, so mellow! I love it! I'm really liking how you've kept the arpeggios from the original but added the little extra grace notes in between - it's true to the source and unique all at the same time. I also like how the piano seems to be a bit distant. The choir bit at the end was a nice touch, though it seems a little choppy in the middle part, when switching notes. I totally don't know what I'm talking about, haha! But I really do like this mix and would put it on my iPod in a heartbeat.
  6. I can't believe I actually like this. It's so far away from what I usually listen to, and yet there's something about how heavy and raw it is that makes me keep coming back to it. Nice work!
