  1. SoundCloud Link above. Just sharing a section of what I'm working on. This is a section of my medley, Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger. I threw in licks from two songs I previously ReMixed. It's still raw and unmixed, but any feedback would be appreciated. Take care! -ymK
  2. Agree with @HarlemHeat360 the legato, dynamics, and articulations are missing from this arrangement. It could be your orchestral VST but the samples are also pretty dry. I don’t have much experience with orchestral production (mainly use strings and horns as pads in the background) but you need to be automating a lot when it comes to orchestral work, especially when it comes to the dynamics and legato to add realism. Christian Henson is a good resource for working with orchestra midi It sucks a decent orchestral VST is like $500+ but I’d recommend getting a Spitfire Audio bundle at some point. Keep at it!
  3. Solid. I enjoyed this. I thought the mix was well done. No clutter. My only suggestion would be to add more energy to the last drop by switching or layering a ride on the off beat hats. Or using a ride on the down beats. Good shit. -Kris
  4. Nice work. It has a very retro feel and true to the original. If that's what you're aiming for, GJ! One suggestion in regards to the drums: the hi hats and the snare sounds like it's occupying the same frequency range. You can high cut EQ the snare or scoop out some of the high end to make room for the hi hat. You can also boost some of the mid range of the snare to give it more presence. You can also choose a different snare sample with more punch or use a clap. If you have any questions on anything else feel free to send me a message. I'm trying to get more involved with the community. Cheers, Kris
  5. I do enjoy the atmosphere on this one. You did capture the trance vibes with this one. As far as as mixing goes, I need the drums to hit harder, especially the kick and snare. Also a sucker for crisp hi hat action. It's trance after all. You notice the kick in the very beginning is at a decent level and then when everything is introduced it kind of looses that oomph in the mix. The overall volume of the mid-range could be lowered. There is a lot going on in that range. Pulsing chords could be pushed further back. I like the arrangement. GJ!
  6. Thanks for the comments everyone. Hopefully I'll have more remixes soon!
  7. Chrono Trigger Mashup Hey everyone. New to the community. Thought I'd share my remix with you all. Let me know what you think!
