  1. A great song to listen to when I'm in not in the mood for something uber-fast that'll kick me in the face. It takes the original, and works in a very nice orchestral sound. Gives a nice emotional feel to the piece, just like the original theme did.... very nice to see Cox didn't go changing too much around. Like I've said before, I'm usually not too fond of orchestral pieces (just not my favourite style), but every now and then, one catches my attention. This one is easily one of those. Not my favourite mix, but there's no denying how well done it is. Props to Cox.
  2. One of my favourite Megaman remixes. I particularly liked the job done on Spark Mandrill's theme (one of the best themes in the game). I listen to this one a lot, and never get sick of it.... it's so fast-paced, and so well done that you don't get bored of it. Some really nice stuff.
  3. Damn. I'm not usually partial to the classical sounding pieces (though there are some very good ones here), but this one really caught my attention. Some really nice work.
  4. I really liked this one. I had always liked the original tune (couldn't stop humming it to myself after playing the game), and this remix does a pretty good job with the original. I only wish it were longer. That is all.
  5. Very, VERY nice stuff. I'm actually listening to it as I write this. The original tune from the game had a jazzy feel to it, so it didn't surprise me that a remix of it took this sound. Excellent bass work in here, makes for some nice easy listening. The drums are quiet, but I actually don't think that's a negative here. Maybe it's just me, but I think if the drums had been more pronounced, they may have competed against the organs. And usually, I don't like when sound effects from a game are used in a remix of it, but this song doesn't overdo it.... very tasteful and limited use of the pipe sound. The timing on it is perfect in the song too. Like others, my one gripe is that it's too short, but I can live with it.
  6. I've listened to quite a few remixes, and I can honestly say this is one of my favourites. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much at first. Storm Eagle's theme from the game was one of my favourite tracks to begin with, but there really wasn't a whole lot to it.... about 30 seconds or so of music, repeating. I had no idea how someone managed to put together an entire mix of such a short song. Fortunately, I decided to check it out anyway, and I was NOT disappointed. The eagle cry caught my attention at first, and the synth work told me I definitely needed to listen to this one all the way through. After the song went through the traditional "30 sec" round of the eagle's theme, I didn't know what else to expect. I was pleased to hear what almost sounded like a little improv work. Really gave it more of an ambient, sky-like feel to it. Good stuff here. The second round continued to improve on what was already shaping up to be a gold remix. The guitar they used really kept that "sky feel" I mentioned going, and sounded better for this particular track than the synth. That should tell you something, since the synth sounded great to begin with. The third round through was by far my favourite part of this mix. The guitar really grabbed my attention, it came piercing through everything else from nowhere. I never get tired of hearing it, and trust me.... I've heard this song plenty. The instrumental part after the final eagle cry, I could have done without, but by no means does it take away from the overall quality of this remix. This sounds weird, but I kid you not, this song is best listened to with an open window, or outside, or whatever.... really, just close your eyes while the breeze is blowing around you, and you'll feel the atmosphere this song gives off. The use and sound of the guitars really makes it "feel" like Storm Eagle's air fortress. The Chikusho sound team did an incredible job with this one. I'd really love to hear more stuff by these guys.
