Never played this one . . . seemed really weird at the time, the name itself and also the fact that it was an RPG that didn't involve, to my knowledge, any of Nintendo's signature characters. Zeratul continues to impress with his masterful abilities at filtering synth sweeps, gating effects, and all sorts of techno trickery. Though I liked his brilliant CT Millenia Fair ReMix a bit better, this one is definitely a keeper. There's some nice ocean sounds that fit with the title, and the whole thing starts off very subtly, with a lot of little chiming pieces, till a killer snare roll comes in with the rest of the accoutrements to lay down a groove. A well-named mix, as it does conjure images of a beach party, in a techno-ReMixed 8-bit nostalgia sort of way :)

YAY! SEAGULLS! but then I was kinda like "ehhh....grating saw synth". This one...yeah, perky and very very cheesy. Actually, make that a bit TOO cheesy. Sounds almost like it's from a workout tape for kids. Off all the things about it, its the saw and the drums that age poorly, otherwise this ain't half bad minus the excessive cheese.
Also, Val's reviews are beacons of eloquence and in-depth analysis.

Samples sound quite archaic, and the volume levels are too low in general. There's also quite some room for the song to be extended too. Maybe I would've liked it when I first found the site, but I don't really find this an attention grabber.

very good stuff, I was tapping my toes to the upbeat sound. The synths are really retro at parts, especially right at the end. Reminds me a lot of vgm back then.

I came for the fake beach sounds, but stayed for the awesomely upbeat danceability.
Well, anything that reminds me of my favorite place to be is automatically great.

00237 indeed. Hardly something that'd get far today, but it's one of those smile-inducing tracks. There's something beyond the HHC connection that reminds me of Lemmings here, probably the non-hostile sound and vibe. Cut out the genre elements and this could probably blend in perfectly with the Lemmings songs.

Definately a dance track. I love that it's so happy! Really a fun listen.

Just a warning, this is more of a frantic beach party than the sit-and-drink-margarita one that I was envisioning, and all the better.
Energetic and fun, it'd be great for some beach volleyball or running away from someone after you've poured a bucket of water on them while they had fallen asleep on their blanket.
I loved startropics when it ifirst came out; the controls were slightly stiff (some would say required prescision) for an action RPG, but the cool touches and the unique location made it a real winner in my mind. This mix does it justice abd is something that I can totally dance to, thanks to my ADHD super powers.
Good stuff.

A very good ReMix, of my favorite genre.
Perhaps the EQ isn't perfect (too much bass), but I really love to listen to this.
I would surely recommend this.

This song has a nice upbeat tone to it. I always played startropics 1 and 2 and this brings the whole small part of the beach venturing right to life. This music piece should have been on the game instead.. Excellent work

StarTropics 'Beach Party'
This could almost pass for HHC. It's fun and light. I'm sure if I had
played StarTropics when I was younger, like I always wanted to, this one
would make me smile a lot bigger than it already does.
