Peaceful. Serene. Serendipitous, even. Newcomer spacepony gives us a really tranquil arrangement of the water music from SMW that just sorta carries you away... it's a little too waltzy, 3/4, and major-key melodic to be what I'd call truly ambient/new age, but it's certainly some mellow business. The very minimalist bass with cross-panned, rising arpeggios is quite nice, but spacepony adds some great harmony and counter-melody in that really makes the arrangement work in this extended fashion and embellishes Kondo's original. The kicker for me is the amplitude gated (more likely an LFO) synth lead that enters at 1'30" - though the harmony that follows it, with very warm piano and strings, is quite nice, the floating nature of this particular timbre and its usage here just strikes the right chord, so to speak. This is not a complex mix, yet all the elements work together and there's nothing that seems out of place or unnecessary. A little repetitive, and as mentioned not amazingly innovative, but somehow hypnotic, and having something of the appeal of a Japanese stone garden or Chinese calligraphy, where every element is in harmony with others. In a word: pleasant.

Very peaceful and relaxing. The bell chimes are great and the piano has such a good sound. It's just one of those ReMixes I could probably fall asleep to.

Nice airy feel to this song. The quick panning on the pads gets pretty old on headphones, sadly. Fortunately, they don't stick around TOO long to kill the track. I actually do like the basic bass patch. It kind've gives it a real basic, no-frills feel that some of the mario tracks are known for (SMRPG comes to mind). The strings sound real nice after the two minute mark. They blend very well with the pads at that point. I do wish the bell-pads didn't come back with the panning thing later, but it's not a big deal. Nice chilled out track.

Great pads and bells, it really makes this feel like a nostalgic and dreamy lullaby. Another of the seemingly endless gems that I missed the first 2 times going through all of the remixes. Some of the samples are a little static, and could use some delay to give a greater depth to the mix, but really this is shimmering and beautiful.
I love the melodic changes done to it, and though it repeats a lot, it only enforces the lullaby angle. Fantastic stuff.

Very serene and floaty. The vibrato effects work well for the SMW underwater theme - this most definitely has the water world feeling to it. The last repetition of the bridge starting at 3:07 almost has an outer space feel to it as well.
I liked the counterpoint harmonies and the slight variation of the main theme. Still completely recognizable but with some changes to make it interesting. I liked the arrangement with the piano that begins around 1:39 - the deeper piano tones help give this piece some nice bass.
As others have said, it's a bit on the repetitive side. I didn't care for all the vibration on the 2:21-3:04 segment, it's a little dizzying (can't explain why exactly, but I feel a little motion sick at that segment).

Pros: Emotive retention. Crisp instrumentation. Tonal Balance.
Cons: Cheesy pads. Could use more effects.

This is beautiful piece, but it doesn't remind me of any song from any Mario Bros game. I know it's supposed to be of the underwater theme, but it doesn't resemble the origional at all in my opinion. Sorry but I don't really think this is a remix so much as a new, original song made from scratch.

I love the bass at the beginning (.10) and the very clear - crisp piano around 1:36. This song makes me think of younger years and toadstools.
