A NEW WARRIOR HAS ENTERED THE RING!!
We're proud to announce our 52nd community arrangement album, CEO 2015: Champion! As with the Apex 2013, 2014, & 2015 albums, this album is tied to an event (CEO 2015, June 26-28 in Orlando, Florida), and Shariq "DarkeSword" Ansari again takes the directorial helms for a heapin' helpin' of VGM beatdown, with fourteen tracks from thirteen artists, including both original songs and arrangements of themes from ten different fighting games that comprise this year's CEO tournaments. Up first we've got Nutritious, who feeds us one of his most aggressive EDM ReMixes to date, taking on USF4 newcomer Decapre's theme:
"Ever since first seeing DarkeSword's recruitment posts for the Apex album projects, I'd wanted to join up and do a mix. Unfortunately, real life tended to get in the way of that each time. However, when he posted to recruit for a similar album for the CEO tournament, I decided not to let this chance slip by as well.
As most producers/remixers can attest to, when beginning a new track, the end result very rarely ends up sounding like what you'd originally envisioned. I've been listening to a new artist named Fox Stevenson, and was attempting to emulate a style similar to one of his mixes called "Throwdown" (Rob Gasser remix, actually). The idea was for a half-time, heavy electronic take on the Decapre theme from USF4. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I wasn't quite able to get it sounding how I wanted it to. Eventually, it evolved into a sort-of rock D'n'B track, with the same heavy low-end presence I was trying for in the first place. I really wanted something high energy for the album and I feel I accomplished it here. In my opinion, I feel that it is one of my best tracks to date."
Director DarkeSword writes:
"This remix of Decapre's theme is probably one of Justin's best pieces yet. High-energy with great, crunchy guitars (what up, Shreddage?), and a big aggressive synth sound. Really captures the soundscape of the Street Fighter IV soundtrack too! You could drop this right into the game and no one would be the wiser. Fantastic work!"
Really just a HEAVY sound & a lot of oomph going on here; perfect for a fighting game vibe. Justin initially had a different snare that wasn't as appropriate and was able to swap it out at the last minute for something with a bit more impact, which enhanced the already punchy production. Chimpazilla adds:
"Great soundscape established right away, those bass stabs are terrific! You nailed the low bass presence you were going for."
When Decapre was announced, I'll admit I was a little nonplussed, but at the very least her tunage has now resulted in a badass EDM joint from Justin that has the perfect amount of competitve swagger to it, given the context. Block-knockin' beats, aggressive guitars, searing synths, and a tense, tight atmosphere make this a great introduction to CEO 2015: Champion!!

the intro for this track is awesome, feels exactly like a movie scene where the main character is approaching the ring getting ready for the main event. The beats in this track are perfect and the bass that accompanies it is perfect. The leads never get dull or repetitive due to overuse and the overall energy of the track is right up there on the scale. Love the fake-out break-down around halfway through; it takes you down then builds you right back up again. Excellent track!

If I were a fighter, this would definitely be the kind of music I would want to represent my skills. This is a very intense music track, and does an excellent job making anyone associated with it (like Decapre) seem like the most powerful warrior in the universe.

Say want you will about Decapre herself, her theme was pretty good, but man, what Nutritious has done with it makes it hyped beyond comprehension. That guitar riff with the blisteringly hot synth work, this is the kind of ReMix that shows that sometimes all something is missing is a little bit of an aggressive or dark edge, and there is plenty of it here. This is my top Nutritious mix as of now. Damn good mix, man.

So kickass! Those beats are simply monstorous and the guitars work just perfect in this DnB-ish soundscape. Yeah, this is one of Justin's best works
P.S. you posted this mix exactly 2 months after Neblix's take on the same theme. Lol.
