Arranging the music of one song...
"Outset Island"

Argle (Adam Kirby) hits us with the second of his Wind Waker mixes, following his symphonic anthem from last month up with an upbeat "Outset" hip-hop instrumental featuring chiptune & turntable elements:
"Crusty hip hop track with lots of 'trons and other moldy, old sounds."
As a fan of stinky cheese like gorgonzola, I can only say: delicious. I recently learned that the Chamberlin was the precursor to the Mellotron. I think I knew that at *some* point, but had forgotten. Interesting backstory. Upbeat & generally pretty plucky, this mix is pretty straightforward but does an excellent job capturing the intended texture/atmosphere; Chimpazilla writes:
"It all sounds fresh and fun. Some of the sounds are indeed cheesy but in such a good way. The scratches are terrific. I like the unique chord ideas you've used, nice personalization. Nice gating at 2:45! Very upbeat take on a great source."
Palpable adds:
"What a cute little arrangement. The original song is pretty happy and you kept that same spirit, while providing a fairly different take on it. The intro and outro didn't change the mood for me; they were kind of quirky and fit the style. Not much to say, but I really enjoyed it!"
Last but never least, not that we're doing any sort of comparative evaluation of judge quotes anyways, Nutritious offers:
"I've heard a few tracks from Argle now and I still feel like I haven't nailed down his personal style. Perhaps a jack of all trades mixer? He certainly seems to be proficient in mulitple genres :) This is a fun, upbeaty mix. Beat is crisp. Overall production is solid. The little variations and effects on the transitions are a very nice touch."
Ditto on the mix AND mixer comments; these two Wind Waker mixes are both great in their own distinct way, and taken as a one-two punch of Argle, illustrate some potent creativity & stylistic diversity. Fun, amiable arrangement from Argle that does a great job giving "Outset Island" a light & old-school makeover!

I have listened to this more times this week than I care to count. It's just so catchy! Very well done.

It's a real treat listening to this--so bouncy and upbeat. It's going straight to my fave remix playlist!
