Arranging the music of one song...
"House"

Rebecca E. Tripp continues an excellent year with this plucky, mellow symphonic arrangement of the "House" theme from Ocarina of Time, making extensive use of woodwinds & also working in strings, harp, and quite a bit of triangle:
"Here is my orchestral arrangement of the music that plays when you enter houses in Ocarina of Time, as well as Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and others. I sort of ended up taking that song for granted, since it plays in so many places in the Legend of Zelda series, but the very first time I heard it on my first playthrough of OoT, I was totally infatuated with it! It's so whimsical and playful! It makes me feel safe and joyful, while simultaneously enchanted and curious. A perfect fit for the homes in the series! I tried to vary it, add more layers, and elaborate on it in this remix, since the original song was so minimal and short. The track was originally composed by Koji Kondo. I hope you like it!"
Definitely remember this theme quite vividly; hadn't heard it in a while, so it was nice to be reminded, and while not transformational, Rebecca's arrangement does a good job of extending & embellishing the source. MindWanderer writes:
"A tricky source to work with, not a whole lot there. And this arrangement is definitely on the repetitive side as a result. But it never quite repeats exactly, with different, creative accompaniment each time, and there's lots of extra padding to break up the repetitions."
Liontamer concurs:
"I would have loved more melodic interpretation and the theme got repetitive over time (but only near the very end for me). That said, the new instrumentation ideas, and the expansive writing touches do collectively get it done here. Rebecca with a conservatively structured but solid cover."
So yes, definitely on the more conservative side of things, but extrapolation & layering make for a pleasantly familiar but still distinct trip down nostalgia lane. Enjoy!

Wow.
Beautiful. Warming. Calming, but also impactful. Great
composition!

This certainly took the original in a different direction. It painted a picture in my mind of a cozy old cottage that had a sense of safety.
