Arranging the music of one song...
"Stage Select"

Newcomer bsolmaz13 offers up a Korg Gadget-based chip-edm take on the "Stage Select" theme from Mega Man 3:
"A remix of the classic "Stage Select" from Mega Man 3. I've always loved this short little tune and wished many times it was longer and had more variety to it. So I set out to create just that myself (using KORG Gadget on Nintendo Switch) and make it into its own song.
The track starts out in an 8-bit style - even gets to a recreation of the original at one point - and suddenly evolves into something modern. Essential to me was to add and alternate between enough newer elements so the track and it's samey (although awesome) melody doesn't get too repetitive. Also important to me was that I kept using 8-bit channels/instruments throughout the modern part to create some sort of retro-modern hybrid, which I really like. I hope everyone else does too!"
The sharif DOES like it; the extended chip intro had me thinking this was gonna be straight chiptune, but then the drop hits with a filled-out, more modern EDM backing, and things groove from there. It's pretty cool that this mix was produced entirely within Gadget, and on the Switch version too, no less. Not entirely surprising, since Gadget has pretty good synth options for chip sounds in particular, but nifty nonetheless, especially since it turned out so well. Sir_NutS writes:
"I can't believe this mix turned out so good from such a short source. Production is top notch, chips are crisp, arrangement is surprisingly expansive. This is just great and should go to the front page ASAP. Oh and submit more stuff."
Larry Oji adds:
"...Good job getting a lot of melodic and textural variations out of this to justify the length. The ending was a too sudden, so I wish that was more thoughtful, but this clicks overall. Welcome!"
A couple judges voiced concerns about repetition, but generally the panel was digging the vibe & how effectively the artist embellishes & extends the source. Great stuff from bsolmaz13 - check out the YouTube channel for more!

Chippty goodness aplenty! I enjoyed this remix, it had the retro feel mixed with a fresh reimagining. It is also a nice way to expand upon the original stage select theme which is no easy feat! Great job on this!

An overall pretty repetitive track that tries to not be repetitive. I liked the breakdown at around 2:18 in. Wish the breakdown was a bit longer as it added more to the song.
