A mellow, chamber-style classical take on the "National Park" theme from Pokémon Gold, courtesy RebeccaETripp, with production assistance from Chimpazilla:

"This is my favourite track in the entire Pokémon franchise (of which, by the way, Gold and Silver are my favourites!). I've been wanting to do a cover of this theme for quite some time now, and just hadn't gotten around to it. I'm not sure if I like the original National Park music better, or the elegant piano and jazz remaster in HeartGold/SoulSilver. This track was mixed/mastered by Chimpazilla."

Solo string & wind parts, a lovely (and close) harp, and (later) an unobtrusive drum groove give this peaceful piece a serene, affable vibe. Chimpazilla (Kristina Scheps) assisted with mastering:

"It's a beautiful track and I enjoyed working on it!"

Panel was unanimous after the fixes/revisions Kris provided - very cool. Rexy's comments include a good structural analysis of the arrangement:

"As always, the orchestrated treatment sounds lovely. It's a simple idea, with two run-throughs of the theme and an ending based on the A section, but the choice of instrumentation and accompaniment writing differs between the two variations. The first one varied the scope up with additional counter-melodies and harp strums, keeping more of that source familiarity. Then, the second run brought the main melody into the background with an emphasis on multiple counter-melodies and harmonies, all on a much higher register. As Larry pointed out, there isn't much dynamic variation other than the ending - but the way you utilized the instruments in each run-through more than makes up for it."

prophetik music adds:

"overall this is a really interesting arrangement because it feels very Pokemon throughout. it has the whimsy i associate with those soundtracks, yet still is distinct enough from the original to call it something new. the mastering by chimpa really helps this sing out even more."

I'd like to add that I've (finally) played through a full right proper Pokémon game after beating Pokémon Sword with my daughter, so I can with *some* degree of context corroborate Brad's assessment - this does indeed feel very Pokémon. Great variation & a wonderful intimate & agreeable mix from Rebecca!

This remix had a plucky and discordant feel to it, the call and response of the strings was definitely a treat. This was a lot of fun, great job!

Yeah, so I'm a huge sucker for National Park remxies. Awesome source song incredible for a GameBoy Color game. This is the style and kind of remix that really brings a melody out and fills it out from the 8-bit source.
