Last but not least, we conclude our fearsome foursome of homages to Ms. Shigihara's Opus with this energized, hard-hitting EDM/d'n'b & rock boss mix, again from collaborators timaeus222 (Truong-Son Nguyen) & Chimpazilla (Kristina Scheps). Truong-Son writes:

"The idea for this was a dark, yet uplifting track. An embodiment of Dr. Zomboss's Doofenschmirtz-esque character, if you will (from the look of its eyes, I've always thought Zomboss was evil with a side of humor). A little bit in, and you can already tell I had fun with bass mixing here (half sarcasm). Further in and it gets even more ridiculous. I think Kristina did a great job with reading my mind on the arrangement here (all I did was hand her the project file a few times with an organizational tab giving a short description of what I wanted), even though this was the first time I was the one who handed her the first WIP, and not the other way around. In the end, such a fun ReMix to work on, really pushing my mixing abilities. Thanks for taking me up on this collab, Kristina, and let's keep dishing out more powerhouses like this!"

Chimpazilla adds:

"I sure do enjoy working with Truong-Son. We've worked together on several tracks now, and we seem to share a brain most of the time while we're writing and mixing. Our styles, tastes, and writing and mixing abilities are a good match, we're both learning and trying new things, and the work just flows so naturally between us. We seem to have the ability to create magic together.

After we chose the source for this track, Truong-Son sent over a fairly complete intro with not much more than a note saying "heavy yet uplifting DnB here." Keeping his note in mind, I went ahead and wrote quite a bit of content (verse, chorus, and breakdown) and sent it back. The next time I heard the track, he had swapped out some of the bass instruments I had used for the hardcore guitars and bass you hear now. I never laughed so hard in my life... almost couldn't breathe... not because it didn't sound great (it did), but because I've always said (to anyone who would listen) that metal is my least favorite genre! So, to hear what I had written reinterpreted in that style struck me as absolutely hilarious (OMG, I just wrote a metal track???)! But Truong-Son does metal guitars "like a boss" (a Zomboss?)... and it really worked. We completed the track, and we each loved what the other added. The track is dynamic, varied, powerful, and fun, I think! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it. And yes, Truong-Son, we will keep dishing them out!"

In the context of zombies, "sharing a brain" sounds like dinner for two, but yes, the symbiotic synergy between these artists is something else; this is over-the-top, action-packed maximalism which transitions & modulates from aggressive to... optimistic? All while keeping the energy up and throwing thick shreddage & searing synths our way - kudos! Very interesting alley-oop-alley creative process, and I think the dynamic mood & momentum are a wonderful result. Kris & Truong-Son were co-directing what would have been the full album, and while it wasn't meant to be, they each did a fantastic job individually and worked well as a team, and these four mixes reflect that effort.

Thanks to Shaun, Alexandre, and Chimpazilla/timaeus222 for addressing a musical injustice and finally giving OCR some PvZ mixes & a sweet Halloween treat, and to Laura Shigihara for composing such a wonderful, unique, & memorable soundtrack. Happy Halloween!

There is a lot of fun stuff going on in the background of this remix, most of the time I had the most listening to the various cool things happening in the background. Great filter work throughout and some pretty baller moments. Overall a great remix. Good job!
