Liontamer's note: Very sad and tragic news to share regarding the January 29th DC plane crash: ReMixer DragonAvenger's sister-in-law and niece were among the 67 killed. If you're able to, please give to the Beyer family's GoFundMe. ANY amount sincerely helps.
Brielle, 12, was a talented, experienced figure skater as well as a cancer survivor. Justyna, 42, was extremely devoted to Brielle's Olympic aspirations. Friends of the Beyer family have set up this memorial GoFundMe for Justyna & Brielle to help with funeral expenses and future support for father Andy Beyer and little Kallen (DragonAvenger's brother & nephew and in-laws of OceansAndrew).
We share this previously submitted piece from OceansAndrew as a small but earnest memorial to these irreplaceable members of his extended family.
Please share this to anyone who may care -- word of mouth is extremely helpful.
Folks, please take care of each other. We're all we have.
Take a trip to Tsurumi Island with OceansAndrew's latest offering from Genshin Impact! The last solo ReMix we have from Andrew was posted in the beginning of 2022, so it's great to have a longtime ReMixer (and now composer) back in the active column. He writes:
"A thematic remix combining several of the Inazuma area themes, specifically from Tsurumi Island. When you encounter the island in the story, it is millennia after a cataclysmic event where the island was laid to waste, and, ever since, it has been lost in a deep fog.
The original themes are very sparse and mournful, signifying that, even after thousands of years, the despair remained. I wanted to reimagine the themes as a more immediate arrangement, going back thousands of years where the majesty of an unstoppable destructive force turns its wrathful gaze upon the island.
The music in this game is so good and I'm already working on a few other arrangements from different in-game nations. Who knows? Maybe I'll even finish a world tour someday. :-)"
There's a ton of pathos in this rendition of these themes, and it's fun to hear some of the tonal vocabulary that was in the process of making it into Flowstone Saga's soundtrack being used in a different context. Emunator caught this right away in his comments:
"Gorgeous plucked textures and orchestra to start, this feels like a significant departure from your usual work - I wonder if these are the same sounds you've been exploring on Flowstone Saga. Only time will tell, I suppose. From there, we go into more traditional OceansAndrew fare - soaring lead lines, thick rhythm guitars, and a variety of synths, which is just as gratifying now as it always has been. The extra symphonic embellishments go a long way in keeping things dynamic and enjoyable."
In a similar vein, Liontamer states:
"I really dig the interplay of all of the elements for the 3:37 section as well; there were a lot of good areas that could be focused in on, and I found myself rewinding things back to pay closer attention to each element. Nice choice of sources by OA that connected well together. It'll sound like I'm saying the rock aspect was a weak link; the introduction up to :45 was such cool stuff from OA that I'd love to hear a lot more from him in that style without the rock, because it was a stylish new wrinkle in his game. :-)"
I personally really enjoyed the quieter sections as well because of how different from normal fare it was for OA. Regardless of your musical interests, I think everyone will appreciate this arrangement. Check it out!

Wow, I didn't expect to see Genshin Impact remix. ahh... This
brings back some old memories when I used to play GI in 2020. I
remember how Yu-Peng Chan's music hit me like a truck in the
start menu screen.
I already love this remix and it's going straight into my Game
