Look Outside "Deathly Cursed Uber Ride of Painful Hyper Doom" 5:18

TheManPF comes out of a hiatus with a bloodlust for... progressive metal! When I heard this track during DoD's most recent Fresh Month I was quite jealous! The riffs are resplendent, the arrangement is awesome, the production is punchy, the playing is phenomenal, and the prog is potent.

The church organ intro builds by bringing in heavy power chords and a choir, leading into a sick legato harmony on guitar and synth. Immediately I'm hooked. Oh, but we're not done. There is still nearly 5 minutes of intense prog metal left on this crazy ride, so buckle up!

"On arrangement, this is extremely cool! For the first "loop" you follow the structure of the original closely but add a lot of personalization through instrumentation and variations over the original material. After that we get increasingly creative variations over the presented material which are fun as heck. No complaints from me here, I particularly loved the section at 3:38 with all the quick breaks and changes."

Seriously, check out TheManPF's creative, angular variations as the track drives on. There's so much cool stuff lurking in there. Decapitating riffs, pouncing dissonance, and enticing interludes abound! And that's not even mentioning Biggoron's silken synth lines and Zach Chapman's monstrous bass playing! There's so much to like, the judges all have something to say...

"some sfx and organ/choir to start - appropriately epic concept. the big chord stacks with a screaming synth on top are huge and sound great. [...] 0:57 sounds very dastardly and straight off of Train of Thought, and the siren soon after is great cinema. there's a super fast solo in a few instruments - that synth solo is nuts!"

"[...] after another car SFX we get a new section around 3:38 where you go ham with variations over the 0:56 riff, I particularly love the take at 3:51. This madness is followed by a bass solo, awesome! Another repeat of the intro melody follows, now featuring a new chord progression and we then get a guitar/synth duet!"

My personal favorite moments are the guitar and synth duel at 1:28 and the breakdown at 3:24.
