Arranging the music of one song...
"Dr. Wily Stage 1"
Primary Game: Mega Man 2 (Capcom , 1988, NES), music by Manami Matsumae, Takashi TateishiPosted 2000-06-09, evaluated by djpretzel
Yet another great MegaMan mix! The megaman games seem to be the most remixed titles on the net, and this contribution by ReMixer Charles Blachly does the name of megaman proud, adding to a long list of quality MM tunage available here at OC ReMix! Thumpin' bass drum and rapid-fire tracking highlight this mix of the immortal Dr.Wily theme . . dig it

Not very impressive, yeah. Very straight up 'MIDI with a drum loop' cover, from the sound of it. Exactly what ocremix isn't.
But, rest in peace.

Yeah......yeah, no. Sorry, but I'm going to have to agree that this just doesn't do it. It sounds very MIDI and there's not a whole lot of addition going on with the source, which brings it closer to the realm of cover for me.

While this is interesting because of the panning/sound placement, that's about it. This is just beats plus source melody and that's it. No more, no less. As consequence, there's better stuff out there. Nothing much to see (or hear) here.

I remember this mix, and I'm still not a fan of it. It is a crappier cover version of the original - for a song that has been done so many times, I'll take numerous other versions of this over this particular one any day.

Sorry to say I'm not a fan of this. It's unoriginal, and the sounds are very midi. Sorry, again.

Not really digging this one; it sounds basically like a NSF rip with some panning and additional drums.
It's unfortunate that Charles died before he could really put the time in to be an awesome mixer.

This is an article written about Charles Blachly in
his Honors College Magazine the semester after he
died (April 2003).

When this remix started, I enjoyed it very much. The synth was perfect I think, maybe the hihat beat in the back was too tight, but it didn´t really matter.
I didn´t vary much, it went on with its own pace, but I enjoyed the melody change at 1:10, that one was great.
I´m sorry for the loss of Charles´s family.

I had no idea that the dude was dead. I apologize if my 'review' offended anyone. But, as much as death must be respected, it doesn't make the remix any better.

You people are too kind; this is crap. The remixer took one of the best MM tunes ever and took a big dump on it. It's a friggin' NSF rip with worse instrumentation. It's panned all wrong. It's chez and unemotional. No time was put into this. Remixer: this is OC Remixed not OC Regurgitated. I'm almost offended that this is downloadable.
Rest in Peace, Blachly.

This remix is ok. It seems the remixer did the best with the tools he had available. The drum beat is rather uninspiring; the bass is nice around 1:10, but other than that, sounds like a midi rip with some marginally better instrument choices than the original.

I wouldn't say this bites but its not a mix i often listen to. The 2-3 second intro and 2 sec ending are the onlt redeeming features i personally gather from this. The sad thing is it does sound midi-ish unfortunately and the constant drum is too repetative. The ending is pretty neat though.

Dr. Wily's stage theme is one of the best tracks from MegaMan 2 however, this remix bites. It sounded as if the artist recycled the notes from the midi file only changing the instruments. The artist did add his\her own drum background, but it's boring.

Mega Man 2 'The Doctor Named Wily'
This sounds kinda weird but not in a bad way. The bass is extreme right and the percussion is extreme left, which is bothersome if you ever plan on listening to it with headphones, but on a regular stereo system it's alright. This song ends pretty much right when it should. Not bad but not great. Cool ending!
