Arranging the music of one song...
"The Prelude"

Believe it or not, this is the FIRST Final Fantasy ReMix on the site, which is strange given the series popularity - I guess there are just so many other sites that already carry SPECIFICALLY squaresoft mixes that no one bothered. Well, someone finally DID submit something, and a kickass something it is - Ailsean's brilliant ReMix of the FF7 arpeggio-laden theme is VERY slick, with some excellent guitar playing and just a general overal high quality . . you MUST download it

This is surprisingly good for 2000. The electric lead guitar solo was a bit plainly played and lacked some fluidity to the note connections, but otherwise the soundscape was pretty well-developed for that age and time!

Ailsean *heart eyes* definitely one of my favorites of the old ocremix if I remember correctly.
People are right, this might be dangerously close to being a cover, but I enjoy it. And besides there's a few little licks and personal touches that make it its own entity. It's simple and well executed, the recording quality isn't all the way there but all the same there's something warm and pleasingly nostalgic about the whole thing. I'd be satisfied if any FF ocremix album opened with this, I think

you did the title screen music some royal justice there, man. pretty but kick arse stuff.

Alright, I'll say this does have skill to it. Not a whole hell of a lot of change-up, but the playing is well done and it's fun to listen to. Good performance and I just feel like it might have a hair of time rust on it. Another example of nice little ReMixes you miss if you skip the first few years of OCR.

A pretty standard prelude arrangement (i'd go so far as to say it's a cover), but damn is it nice. Great playing, excellent tones, and a excellent feel. Not much else to say, but nice work. This is super good stuff.

I've had this one for a while, and I still love it.
One of OCR's classic remixes

1:38 - 2:08 -- maybe my favorite 30 seconds of music on this site. Amazing. Just amazing.

You guys cracked down on a lot of stuff that followed the source pretty closely. Well I guess a lot of it was MIDI rips which this is NOT so perhaps my fears were unfounded?
Edit: Not trying to start a debate on the lockdown or anything, just an expression about my joy for this song being on the site

I'm quite surprised, but ever so pleased that this song survived the lockdown. Such awesome production value, kickass playing, and its nice and leaves you in a calmed state. Well it does to me anyways
Uh, why would it have even been at risk to be removed?

This mix effortlessly gives the edge, character, and life to the Prelude. With character comes the rich collection of thoughts and mood presented in this mix. Kinda paints a picture of the badass Cloud, haha, well, that's how I see it. Keep it up!

So ... mellow .... There is one thing that can describe this, and I beg the internet to forgive me. This track is 3.

Although I'm no softy and can't really get into this, I can hear the technical skill. It's a bit empty as a mix, but relaxing as such. Man, I hate relaxing. But, hey, if you can make me relax then somethings done correctly. Kinda makes me feel like I'm chillin' on the beach with Kidd and Serge...
Why FF7?

A very nice remix, but I agree that it would have been nicer if it lasted a bit longer.
