"CHRONO CROSS ~Scars Left By Time~"

Newcomer Marc Star gives us a great, if brief and a bit repetitive Chrono Cross ReMix, with a pleasant beat, swirling guitars, ocarina/flute lead, and just an overall nice sound to it. Hard not to listen to and at least get into a little with the upbeat dance-ish drums and mellow, lush intermingling of guitar and synths. Judges agreed that while brief and not extraordinarily daring, this mix had the right stuff, but there was a small problem - the original file submitted had a good 15-20 seconds of unnecessary trailing silence at the end. It delayed the process somewhat to track down Marc and get a fixed version, but for the just-under two and a half minutes of tunage he's provided, it was certainly worth taking the time. Great opener ReMix from out of left field, and hopefully a harbinger of things to come from Marc Star (just without the silence next time, kay? ^^) - groovy stuff, check it out.

I was really feeling this one, but at 2:30 long, it ends just as it's getting going, and when it's time for some expansion, it fades out.
The new rhythms give it a new energy, and the guitars sound pretty nice. The breakdown at 1:32 is my favorite part, but everything in the entire tracks clicks for me. Pretty great for a first submission, and for the most part, it's held up very well over time.

Not much of an intro, but I'm digging this lead that starts things off... well, until it came back more exposed at 1:05 - it just didn't gel as well there. Good changeup immediately following with the lead guitar section, even if it started to get repetative playing the exact phrase a second time. Vary things up! Drums don't have to be on autopilot all the time . Lead could've stood to have some embellishments and changeups to keep it interesting. Still, it's a pretty solid song and fun listen.

I love the arrangement. I don't believe it necessarily HAS to be complicated to be nice, I like this song's simplicity.
Did you use real guitarwork or a sampler? It sounds like a sampler, and sounds a lot like the one used in FFX (Blitzball, i think...). I would love to get my hands one that one! Where did you get it?

I have this song set to wake me up in the mornings. It is very easy to listen to. Marc hasn't done that many remixes - but this one has a beat similar to his Wild Arms RosettaRefrain remix. I think Marc has an affinity for this rhythm which is good, because I like it too.
I have to admit that I've never actually heard the original version of CrossFire, but I really do enjoy this remix. That should be testament to the quality of this mix. A lot of songs fly through pure nostalgic value; this one however stands on its own. I hope Marc does some more great ones like this one. Cheers mate!

I personally got caught by the teacher humming and whistling this song countless number of times. =P
I rate this mix 10/10
in fact I'm listening to it right now as I post this.
Good job Marc. I expect more remixes like crossfire. You might have a potential as a composer.

From the first second of this track, I knew I'd love it. The guitar work is amazing and the rest of first minute is so breezy and relaxing but it keeps you excited and on the edge with this mix of an upbeat undertone and the woodwind instrument. And the rest of it is unforgettable. The piano is amazing. I just love how you took the tune, gave it a general beat and atmosphere and then explored it on different grounds, and by that, I mean instruments and you showed how each of those instruments can interpret the original tune differently but still stay true to the original as well. Really, I'm not sure how much sense that made, but bottom line, this is amazing and I'm struggling to find ways to describe how I feel about it. What more can I say? Keep these coming!

Man first off i want to say that the original chrono cross music is some of my favorite in all of video games, and this just made it so much better. This is just mindblowing, awesome job!
