In 2005 we released three albums - Hedgehog Heaven, Rise of the Star, and The Dark Side of Phobos - and posted 147 ReMixes...

...what, that's not enough? Man, you're hard to please... we'll try harder next year...

Tony Dickinson, alias Prince of Darkness, writes:

"This is the winning track from DoD November '08. A groovy rendition of "Marble Garden Zone" from Sonic 3. I have a guest guitar player playing on the track too. He goes by GuitarBizarre, who's followed OCR for a long time. He plays the solo at 2:15 (which explains the drastically different guitar tone), all other guitar work is me."

First, I just wanna say, I love the mix title. It sticks in my head for some inexplicable reason... I find myself repeating it over and over, like some sort of mantra. Luckily, the music is great too, but before we go there, since we're being all historical today and what not, let's give a shout out to Dwelling of Duels, who've been around since 2003, which ain't too shabby, producing some excellent music all the while. This is yet another example of that, and another stellar piece of music from PoD, who's really made a name for himself this year. So, I love wah guitar more than a grown, responsible man should. If wah guitar were tangible, I'd take daily Scrooge McDuck money baths in it. I'm also a staunch supporter of the slap bass and virtually a brother to the clavinet. Hopefully you see where I'm going with all this, as this mix has all three of these elements and MORE. It's a ridiculous rock-funk sexplosion of Sonic awesomeness. The clav solo alone is an unexpected epileptic blitzkrieg of flavor, and the guitars are of course delicious as well. Fishy gave Oji the slapdown on the decision thread:

"Your stop watching of this track sucks larry, its clearly in the main riff mode for the majority of this mix. I actually thought going in to this track it was a different source, and I didn't even need to be told which one it was and I heard it throughout the whole mix.

Sweet lo-fi sounding shit during the break. Awesome guitar, awesome bass solo, pretty good mixing (lil' muddy on the rhythm guitar side), awesome arrangement, what more is there to say? Sweet stuff, well deserved DoD win, and I'm glad all that hotpink drama didn't stop you from subbing more!"

Testify. This theme already has some absolutely amazing mixes - 'Knuckleduster', 'Pure Black, or Marbles and Cream?' (also great titles!), and 'SonikElektronik', to be specific - but now they've got company. Given that those are three of my favorites from each of their respective artists, I think it's saying something that Tony & GuitarBizarre have together forged a ReMix that's right up there, too. Brilliant.

Oooh, baby! Those guitars! Let the wahwahs loose! As much as I hated the zone itself, I've always loved the tune for this stage, and Prince of Darkness just let loose a flurry of awesome sauce with this funky ReMix. And those solos and original points were....well, on point. Wonderful arrangement by PoD and GB. We have a winner here.

Found this remix ages ago on dwelling of duels and only just registered here awhile ago and thought I'd show my love for this amazing track, from what i see everything tony touches becomes a golden, there isn't one of his remixes i dislike.

Anyway I love this remix its so damn funkadelick and as a massive sonic fan i obviously fell for this track.

From the video on Youtube theres like 3-4 guitars and yet the bass is the most noticeable @.@ wow...

Keep up the great work.

Whenever I listen to the Project Chaos soundtrack, I always put this in place of the other Marble Garden song. I vastly prefer it. It's completely awesome, great guitar skills!

What. WHAT.

At least put them side by side, man. Or are you one of them lyrics haters?

Marble garden for me has always been a bit weird because, I don't like the source tune that much, yet, from this source has come some of the best remixes i've ever heard... including this one.

Really enjoyed this one dudes, great work, fantastic guitar playing, you guys got mad instrumental skills

Love the wahwah guitars, and the soloing is great, too.

Not much else to say, really. This is a very good remix with some rad instrumentation, and just like mentioned before, hearing Knuckleduster's vocals on top of this would be awesome.

Sick bass work! Everything on this track is super solid. From the production to the musicianship and everything and anything in between. The climax at the end had me smiling from ear to ear. I love love love the ending. Wow, great stuff.

Just like Tony's other stuff, this mix doesn't fail to please.

I don't know where to start with this - I think the big highlights are the guitar with that sweet tone, and the groovin' bass playing. For some reason this makes me think of a grooving version of some of Steve Vai's work.

Just a great overall job!

Love it. At long last, the originality has not been damaged and being played as light rock is just stunning, utter stunning. Great transistion and keeping it's original was absolutely beautiful

Hard not to move to the beat in this one. Love the wah guitar and the bass quite a bit, they really help make this track groove. The combination and balance between all the instruments is just right, and the soloing is quite nice. Don't know the source myself, but it stands alone pretty solidly, so nice work.

'Bout time this one showed up here. :

I first heard this in December of last year; it still sounds fresh hearing it a year later. Top notch stuff, PoD and GB.

I'd really like to hear "Knuckleduster"'s vocals on top of this sweet mess.

 Oh my freaking goodness, my mind explodeded.

Still Holy Cow this is awesome and one of my new favorite Sonic mixes. Groovalicious and a very fresh and fun listen. Absolutely stunning.
