Arranging the music of one song...
"Flowering Night"

Some game companies try to make their games seem cool (and to a certain extent, succeed) with relatively minimalist titles like Flower, Wet, Halo, or Bayonetta. Touhou, it would seem, like to take the opposite approach. Touhou Kaeidzuka: Phantasmagoria of Flower View?? Sure, why the hell not... After all, when discussing flower views - in general - the quantity of phantasmagoria is usually my foremost concern. Mr. Cabbage entered this in DoD's free month all the way back in May of last year. He writes:
"It's funny about the Touhou series, though - when I decided to do this mix, I actually had no knowledge of Touhou. My only encounter with the song was the YouTube meme (http://youtube.com/watch?v=RCMhKcjktPM), and it was only after I started the remix that I found out about Touhou and that the song was even from a game. However, I found out that Touhou has some freaking amazing music and it is possible that I will do more."
This mix is a little less spastic than the YT vid in question... but only a little. Breakneck synth riffs meld with unison guit chugs before breaking into a speed metal rendition of the theme in question. Don't hold your breath on this baby, because Jon is definitely not gonna give you a chance to come up for air. In just over three minutes, this cut packs in a ton of riffage, synth and guitar alike. If Touhou's game's are "Bullet Hell" shooters than this is a "Note Hell" ReMix, matching projectile count with rapid fire frequencies & textures. Great work from Kidd Cabbage.

Synthy speed metal! Yes, now this is what the doctor ordered. I just can't get enough of these breakneck energy ReMixes. Caffeine for the ears, baby. This mix kicks a lot of ass in only three minutes and I would love to hear more Touhou like this. Damn good stuff, Kidd.

I heard an instrumental remix of this, then I looked up the source, then I googled Ocremix. This is simply amazing and hardcore. I've never played the game but you can do battle to this in any game

I am not sure how I missed this mix when it came out, but I just heard it on OCR Radio. I love the tight rifting, and drum work.
But what REALLY made me love this mix was the one measure of The Trooper by Iron Maiden thrown in

Powerful, frantic remix. The guitar and drums are nice, but what really makes the remix for me is the synth.
I agree with Bahamut about the mix being a bit short, though. A little more breakdown/soloing might have helped.

Please contribute more tracks like this if you stick with Touhou for other mixes. Most of the many, MANY, Touhou doujin albums out there are utter trash and this is refreshing to listen too. 5/5

I remember hearing this from the May 2009 DoD - pretty good job here, which of course shows at the 4th place finish for a free month.
This is pretty frentic stuff, although it feels a bit on the short side.

Touhou music rocks! I have like 10 gigs of Touhou music downloaded. MstrSwrd is right about there being more Touhou remixes than all the remixes on this site. I saw a complete collection that was about half a terabyte!
Anyways, Touhou music is awesome, and I am surprised more Touhou mixes haven't made their way to this site.

Kidd Cabbage almost never disappoints, and this mix definitely lives up to it's name. Great synth work, tight guitar playing, and some pretty pounding drums, this is extremely metal. Awesome work, dude, I loved it back on DoD, and i'm really happy it's at OCR now as well!
