Rebecca E. Tripp is already off to a stellar 2018 with another featured mix, following up her FF6 "Terra" ReMix with this suspenseful, dark, & even somewhat spooky intimate orchestral take on "Swamp Palace" from A Link Between Worlds:

"This is my cover of the Swamp Palace theme from Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. The original tune was composed by Ryo Nagamatsu. This is the track that plays in the water-themed dungeon. Personally, I think this was one of the very best songs in ALBW - a game which definitely has some of the best game music, period!

My goal was to emphasize the mystical aspects of the original. It's mostly orchestral instruments, apart from a Javanese percussion instrument. As usual, I gave this piece a few more layers. :3 I hope you like it."

Gario sensed the same inspiration/likeness I did:

"Ah, I'm glad to see A Link Between Worlds getting more OCR love lately - it really does have a great standalone soundtrack. This arrangement takes a rather creepy, ambient source and arranges it in a more playful manner - it almost sounds like something Danny Elfman would write for the game with the gentle choir and glockenspiel sprinkled in there. The orchestration is great, as usual, and for the most part the instruments are humanized well."

Chimpazilla, who submitted our first featured ReMix of the game, adds:

"I adore all the wonderfully dissonant harmonies you added to this source, you gave it extra creepiness while keeping it completely recognizable. I love it!"

Creepiness++ ;) This lurks and modulates in interesting ways, weaves a tapestry of solo winds, bells, harp, piano, & choral elements, and creates an atmosphere of both wonder & unease. At 3'28" it's a shorter piece from Rebecca, but it sets a stage and explores it effectively - enjoy, and stay tuned for more!

I can't think of a single song by Rebecca that was never inspirational. And this arrangement is no exception! Love the immediate moodiness, mystery, and Zelda - themed exploration that comes from the first few notes. If they do ever make a live action Zelda movie in the near future, they would be wise to consult Rebecca for the musical direction in the score. Well done as always! Love this game and love that artists are making compositions around it!

Lovely introspective piece, great arrangement as usual from Rebecca. I still need to get around to playing this game, but I never had the hardware.

Mysterious and brooding, and once we get to around the 0:35 mark, that sylvan sound I associate with RebeccaETripp comes into the fore. Another gem in the panoply of her ReMixes.

I love Rebecca's work! And I'm ashamed that this is my first review for one of her tracks. She really has a well established style of arranging, and her source choices always go hand in hand with that ethereal orchestration. This is no exception, amazing!
