Get your lederhosen on & start the week out HAPPY with this SMRPG chiptune trance/polka banger from Argle (Adam Kirby), from Super Mario RPG: Window to the Stars:

"Chiptune-infused trance with some polka elements. If that sounds ridiculous, it's because it is. I'm a bit partial to it m'self!"

If you've ever wanted to drink large amounts of beer & wear agreeably ridiculous attire while at the same time enjoying chiptune VGM arrangements, you've found your anthem. Album director DaMonz writes:

"I have very fond memories of the soundtrack from Super Mario RPG, but "Let's Go Down the Wine River" holds a particularly special place there. I remember repeatedly going through that level in the game only to hear that beautiful, cheerful music "just one more time." Argle did a great job making sure we still feel the awesome vibes from that moment. The jumpy bassline and simple drums are a strong backbone that recall the original music's lighthearted feel, and all that is covered by super-tasty synth work. In addition to all that, the acoustic section that starts at 2:08 is a very refreshing surprise. Great work from Argle!"

While globally things these days are actually better than they may seem, it's easy to let the headlines and polarization get you down in the dumps, as principles seem to keep losing ground to in-group bias & cheap/easy rhetoric gets mistaken for substance. I don't have a solution for ALL of that... but I DO think that listening to chip-polka COULD be a start. It'll at least put a smile on your face & a pep (or even multiple peps) in your step, and that's something. I dig that Adam worked in some acoustic bits to phase in & out of the chip realm and into an impromptu Oktoberfest jam session, and the overall vibe is one of unbridled energy & formidable mirth. Polka is almost always fun, but inject it with sugary edm and you get a sweet mix that can brighten the day. Very fun, love it.
